Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.What's in it for you:\nTrane Technologies is seeking aRefrigerationSystems Engineer II who will be a member of our Trane Commercial Systems organization and be responsible for all aspects of equipment design and component integration for Trane Commercial Water-to-Water Chiller and Heat Pump product lines, encompassing both heating and cooling functionalities. This includes modeling system performance, innovating new technology for future products, validating ideas and system performance in the laboratory.\nThis role interacts with other functional resource groups to support product design and integration, such as Compressor Engineering, Thermal Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing, etc. To be successful, this Systems Design Engineer will need to collaborate closely with teams located in La Crosse, WI along with support organizations located in Shanghai, China and Bangalore, India.\nWhat you will do:\nApply engineering knowledge to perform Chiller and Heat Pump Performance Modeling to simulate and predict unit performance.\nIdentify and mitigate potential risks in the system design and development process and develop and implement effective risk mitigation plans.\nDevelop refrigeration subsystems that deliver innovative solutions for existing chiller and heat pump applications, meeting performance goals, regulatory requirements, and cost targets while expanding product offerings to address future cooling and heating needs.\nConduct new technology and new product development projects to improve the function, reliability, or cost of products and components.\nDevelop and improve tools and processes used for the design and integration of new components within our Commercial HVAC product lines for both heating and cooling.\nPerform and document engineering analysis required to design, verify performance, and reliability of HVAC components and products.\nDevelop and execute laboratory tests to support product design, verification, and work with suppliers to obtain component designs that meet product requirements.\nWork effectively across functional lines (development, production, design, marketing, suppliers)\nOvernight travel (less than 10%).\nWhat you will bring:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSME preferred) and at least 2-years of engineering work experience is required. Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus.\nProven success in helping conduct new technology and new product development projects to improve the function, reliability or cost of products and components.\nStrong technical knowledge of refrigeration HVAC systems including system design, component selection, system optimization and testing\nExperience with validation test plan development and execution.\nDemonstrated ability to manage and understand refrigeration system test data.\nDemonstrated ability to efficiently understand, condense, and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions along with having the ability to be coached and mentored by senior employees.\nExperience with product design, bill of materials, engineering specifications, and product manufacturing.\nHave a quality and customer service orientation towards engineering design.\nResilient team player with the dual ability to work as a team player or a team leader. Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and orally.\nBe a self-starter with a high energy level and a high commitment to career.\nAbility to make progress by producing deliverables and completing projects in a multi-tasking environment.\nMust be proficient in problem solving with excellent verbal and written communication skills.\nDesign or application experience with HVAC products, thermodynamic computations, pressure vessel design, compressor, motor, controls, or heat transfer technologies and understanding of Data & Analytics, making data driven decisions and programming knowledge is a plus.\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$65,200.00 - $93,660.00Compensation Type:\nSalaryIncentive Eligible:\nNoSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
