As a Sr. HVAC Development Enginee r you will be supporting one of the most challenging and fastest growing career fields, Trane Technologies Energy Services. This role includes working with internal teams and customers to identify and develop turnkey design-build contracting projects, including scope of work development, cost estimating, and proposal support as part of an industry leading Energy Services Company (ESCO). A career with an ESCO demands not only a knowledge of building systems and all aspects of its construction, but also requires strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills coupled with the will, determination, work ethic and a desire to succeed.\nTheSr. HVAC Development Engineer is responsible for Acquisition Support of both Design-Build Turnkey and Energy Services Contracting project work. This position requires mastery of acquisition, technical aptitude, and project management skills.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelops, evaluates, and discusses possible turnkey HVAC solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer.\nCollects project data needed to assemble turnkey project scope and estimate.\nUtilizes plans, specifications, and knowledge of construction industry to analyze project needs and compiles detailed cost estimates.\nSupports Account Managers in developing and establishing project installation budgets and preparing the sub-contractor request for quotation’s (RFQ) including: scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; permitting and bonding requirements.\nResponsible for creating cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.\nResponsible for the take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.\nAble to communicate, schedule, analyze information, and take responsibility for estimating duties.\nReview bid documents for potential conflicts and constructability issues.\nCommunicate with customer, subcontractors, engineers, and designers on changes or adjustments for estimates and ensure all project needs are met.\nProvide key technical support in pursuit of Trane business, including participation on strategic job acquisition teams.\nResponsible for developing and maintaining subcontractor relations, along with evaluating and categorizing subcontractors.\nAssist and support all efforts of acquisition and customer satisfaction.\nSome travel required; other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nFour-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management\nProject Management and/or HVACR related work experience required.\nWorking knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls.\nFlexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required, including some travel with occasional overnight stays.\nMust possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.\n\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$97,406.66 - $156,200.00Compensation Type:\nSalaryIncentive Eligible:\nYesSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
