Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.Job Summary\n The Systems Engineer Intern role is a high-profile position that will work on the Systems Engineering Team. This team has overall technical responsibility for developing high quality controls and software products. This Systems Engineer Intern will be a member of a new product development (NPD) team, working on one or more projects. They will work to help define system designs, interfaces, and architectures for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) embedded controllers, user interfaces, tools, and digital offerings. In addition, they will help communicate technical direction to senior management and functional teams that span all engineering disciplines, as well as product management, sales, quality, supply chain, and operations.\nDevelop Key Competencies\nThe Systems Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the following key competencies:\nSupport teams on process discipline for new product development.\nDemonstrate knowledge of Systems Engineering.\nExcellent communications skills including the ability to effectively present information/status to senior management and stakeholders.\nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills.\nAbility to manage time and prioritize efforts under the pressure of time constraints.\nAbility to work in a team environment and collaborate with teams in multiple locations.\nAbility to perform mental tasks such as problem solving, continuous learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment.\nResponsibilities\nAs a Systems Engineer Intern in the Controls and Software organization, you will be given various assignments to:\nWork with overall technical leadership on new product development projects.\nParticipate in the product development life cycle of requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.\nEstablish system architecture and perform system level design and decomposition into requirements.\nEvaluate trade-offs between possible solution approaches.\nPerform system analysis and interface definition.\nPerform system and performance test planning and execution.\nLead design reviews and technical project reviews.\nParticipate in failure investigation and resolution.\nQualifications\nPursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, or equivalent.\nBasic knowledge of hardware and software design principles a plus\nHVAC controls and systems industry experience a plus\nCommunication Protocols: Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or other protocol a plus.\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$24.30 - $33.48Compensation Type:\nHourlyIncentive Eligible:\nNoSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
