This role is primarily based in the Service Center, where technicians ensure equipment is ready for deployment and returned equipment is restored to operating condition for the next rental.\nTrane Rental Services provides temporary heating, cooling, and power solutions to commercial and industrial customers. Equipment is shipped from the Service Center to customer locations, where technicians may occasionally assist with installation, startup, and equipment repairs at the job site. Once equipment is returned, this role is responsible for completing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and refurbishment.\nThis position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. The technician works closely with internal teams and may also interact with customers, vendors, and project managers during equipment delivery, setup, and return.\nWhat you will do:\nInspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC rental equipment at the Service Center\nDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues and complete corrective actions\nSupport equipment startup, commissioning, and operational testing before shipment and upon return\nAssist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of rental equipment within the Service Center, requires the ability to operate powered industrial vehicles\nSupport field installation, startup, and teardown of rental equipment at customer sites as needed\nWork with team leaders, project managers, and operations teams to prioritize equipment readiness and customer demand\nAccurately document inspections, repairs, service activity, and equipment condition\nMaintain accountability for company-issued tools, equipment, and Service Center assets\nFollow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements in shop and job site environments\nMaintain flexibility to work overtime and occasional overnight travel, based on business needs\nParticipation in on-call rotation required (24-hour customer support) and/or when business requirements need to be met.\nQualifications\nA High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience\nAt least 2-5 years of experience in commercial HVAC; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience is required.\nOperating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).\nMust possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years. \n\nEPA Certification Preferred\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$18.09 - $54.26Compensation Type:\nHourlyIncentive Eligible:\nNoSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
