Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.Trane NY / Vermont is hiring a Turnkey /Comprehensive Solutions Project Manager based out of our Albany or Syracuse office location. In this role, you will manage all aspects of a multi-million-dollar construction project portfolio, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution in a given time frame and with available resources. Responsible for the administration, implementation and management of assigned construction projects.\nThis role leads cross-functional teams through all phases of project delivery, with a focus on energy savings, operational efficiency, budget control, schedule performance, quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Projects may include HVAC upgrades, central plant improvements, building automation systems, lighting retrofits, controls integration, electrification initiatives, decarbonization efforts, renewable energy support systems, and other facility modernization scopes.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong construction leadership with experience managing technically complex projects in occupied facilities, institutional environments, commercial buildings, healthcare, education, industrial sites, or government settings. This person must be able to manage multiple stakeholders, drive execution, mitigate risk, and deliver projects that meet both financial and performance objectives.\nProject Scope & Portfolio will have a mixture of trade work\nMultiple technologies, vendors and subcontractors.\nHigh degree of customer interface.\nContracts may contain penalty clauses, risk, liabilities, and or liquidated damages.\nTrane will often be a Prime Contractor and leading multiple subcontractors.\nProjects may include general construction systems and technologies that are outside of Trane’s normal core competency.\nRequire supervision of lower tier Project Superintendents.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:\n(Other duties may be assigned)\nProfessionally prepare, document, implement, control and update all aspects of assigned Projects including; Scheduling, Budgets, Buyout, Subcontractors, Permits, Safety Plan, Risk Assessments, Quality Plan, Communication Plan, Progress Reports, Meeting Minutes, Schedule of Values, Leading Owner Meetings, Leading Internal Meetings, Financial Forecasting, Testing/Commissioning, Punch-list, Turnover, and Close-out. \nMechanical HVAC systems knowledge - owner direct design build/estimator/developer duties.\nConstruction management duties.\nLead owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, progress reviews, and internal coordination meetings.\nDevelop and maintain master project schedules, milestone plans, look-aheads, and recovery plans as needed.\nMonitor budgets, forecasts, cost trends, contingency usage, cash flow, and change management to protect project financial performance.\nManages risks on projects to assure completion on time and on budget. \nSelects and manages multiple subcontractors and suppliers as needed to execute the project. \nMeets with; contractors, building owners, subcontractors, other trades, and internal Team to discuss scope of project, budgets, performance, and close-out. \nResponsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management. \nEnsures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects. \nMaintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff. \nEstablishes professional relationship and communicates with field support staff and customers and their representatives. Interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.\nOperates in a team-based environment by coordinating with Operations, Sales and Service to understand and fulfill project requirements. Establishes a professional relationship with the customer and interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews. \nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducational Requirements - bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction Industry or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nAbility to independently prioritize and manage time in a disciplined, productive manner. \nMaintains highest levels of ethics, trust, and personal responsibility. \nPreferred candidate would have OSHA 10 minimum and OSHA 30 preferred\nFamiliarity with financially guaranteed contracts, the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, temperature controls, and process control systems is preferred.\nMust have a general working knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems and the building construction industry.\nMust possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:DUI in the previous 5 years\nHit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.\n\nTravel to customer job sites is required (2-5-hour radius & overnights as assigned projects require), which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms.
