Our API and widget-based solutions are used by top partners like MetaMask, Coinbase, Ledger, and Trust Wallet to enable seamless onboarding of over 10 million users across over 450 active applications.\nWe have raised over $37M from top-tier investors including Consensys, Tether, and Animoca Brands.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer 1 (Backend) to build and scale the APIs and services that power Transak's global on/off ramp platform. You will work primarily with Node.js, MongoDB, and Redis in a microservices environment, shipping production features that are used by millions of users across our partner applications.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer with 2-5 years of experience who writes clean, well-tested code, cares about correctness and performance, and wants to grow into owning services end-to-end. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, product, and other pods, learning how we design for scale, reliability, and security in a regulated fintech environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nAPI & Service DevelopmentBuild, test, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in Node.js.\nModel data effectively in MongoDB and use Redis for caching, queues, and rate limiting.\nContribute to microservices with clean, readable, and well-documented code.\n\nQuality & ReliabilityWrite unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews.\nDebug, profile, and fix issues in staging and production.\nFollow secure coding practices in a compliance-sensitive domain.\n\nCollaboration & DeliveryUnderstand the product and business context behind engineering requirements and contribute to shaping solutions, not just implementation.\nBreak down tasks, give reliable estimates, and ship iteratively.\nWork with senior engineers on design and integrate feedback quickly.\nCoordinate with frontend, product, and other backend pods on shared contracts.\n\nLearning & GrowthRamp up on distributed systems concepts and asynchronous communication patterns.\nProactively improve areas of the codebase you touch.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n2-5 years of backend development experience.\nStrong hands-on experience building APIs with Node.js.\nWorking experience with MongoDB and Redis.\nExposure to a microservices architecture.\nSolid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and problem solving.\nA good team player who collaborates well and gels easily with the team.\nStrong problem-solving ability and product thinking -
