If you’re ready to make a real impact in a dynamic industry, you bring the energy - we’ll provide the platform.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nTransAlta is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join the Maintenance team at Keephills Generating Station.\nReporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, this position is responsible for improving maintenance productivity through the effective planning, coordination, and scheduling of maintenance activities and resources. The Planner/Scheduler plays a key role in the execution of the maintenance work management process, supporting preventative, predictive, routine, and outage maintenance activities while helping to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.\nThis is a full-time, safety sensitive position based at Keephills Generating Station, located approximately 70 kilometres west of Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment testing.\nA DAY IN THE LIFE\nDeveloping detailed maintenance work packages, including labour estimates, material requirements, service requisitions, drawings, work history, safety documentation, and task lists.\nPlanning and scheduling routine and outage maintenance activities to support operational reliability and asset performance.\nSupporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of bills of material, task lists, equipment plans, and maintenance master data.\nCollaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, Procurement, and Materials Management teams to ensure work is effectively scoped, planned, and executed.\nSupporting notification and work order quality standards across site stakeholders.\nAssisting with inventory optimization activities, including material master updates and stocked versus non-stocked material recommendations.\nSupporting engineering-led projects, maintenance programs, and management of change activities through effective planning and scheduling practices.\nIdentifying critical work and escalating potential operational or commercial risks as appropriate.\nProviding guidance and support on planning processes, master data management, and work management best practices.\nABOUT YOU\nJourneyperson Millwright certification or Power Engineering certification with demonstrated maintenance planning and scheduling experience, or completion of a recognized planning and scheduling certificate program; or\nAn Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering degree.\nA minimum of seven years of maintenance experience in a power generation, industrial, manufacturing, or similar operating environment.\nExperience using SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) modules and maintenance work management processes.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business systems.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nDemonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nA commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.\nTHE PERKS\nCompetitive salary \nAnnual and long-term incentives available for select roles \nCompany-matching pension plan\nFlexible health benefits for you and your family \nGenerous vacation and personal days \nLearning and development programs\nEmployee recognition and rewards\nAnnual wellness allowance\nExplore our Careers site to see how we support your growth and wellbeing www.transalta.com/careers.\nOUR CULTURE\nAt TransAlta, we’re driven by a Culture of Results, Learning, and Purpose.
