If you’re ready to make a real impact in a dynamic industry, you bring the energy, and we’ll provide the platform.\nFor more information about TransAlta, visit our website at,www.transalta.com.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nTransAlta is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to provide front-line leadership for safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance execution at our generating facility.\nReporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for supervising maintenance employees and contractors, supporting the work management process, and ensuring maintenance activities are planned, prioritized, executed, documented, and closed out in alignment with safety expectations, operational priorities, and business objectives.\nThe Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for coordinating day-to-day maintenance execution and working collaboratively with Operations, Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, HSE, Supply Chain, vendors, and contractors. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong field leadership, sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage changing priorities while balancing safety, reliability, cost, schedule, resource availability, and operational risk.\nThis is a full-time, safety sensitive position based out of our Keephills Thermal Plant, situated approximately 70 kilometers west of Edmonton, AB and 5 kilometers south of Wabamun Lake.\nA DAY IN THE LIFE\nLead daily maintenance execution with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence.\nProvide leadership, coaching, and support to maintenance employees and contractors in a unionized environment.\nCoordinate maintenance activities with Operations, Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, HSE, Supply Chain, contractors, and vendors.\nSupport the work management process through execution, documentation, closeout, and continuous improvement activities.\nEnsure maintenance work is execution-ready, including permits, isolations, LOTO requirements, materials, tools, equipment, and contractor support.\nMonitor active field work to support safe execution, quality outcomes, and effective risk management.\nManage emergent work, schedule changes, resource requirements, and maintenance priorities to meet operational needs.\nSupport outage planning and execution, including readiness reviews, resource coordination, inspections, and return-to-service activities.\nTrack maintenance and business performance metrics and support ongoing improvements to reliability and maintenance effectiveness.\nABOUT YOU\nJourneyperson Mechanical Trade certification required, such as Millwright or another recognized mechanical trade.\n3-5 year’s experience leading maintenance execution within a power generation, industrial, manufacturing, mining, or similar operating environment.\nStrong knowledge of maintenance safety practices, permitting, lockout/tagout (LOTO), contractor management, and field execution.\nWorking knowledge of maintenance work management processes, including planning, scheduling, prioritization, work orders, and CMMS systems.\nDemonstrated experience leading trades personnel or field crews while providing clear direction, coaching, and accountability.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders.\nAbility to balance safety, reliability, cost, schedule, resource availability, and operational risk in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience using SAP or a similar computerized maintenance management system is considered an asset.\nPrevious experience supervising unionized employees is considered an asset.\nTHE PERKS\nCompetitive salary \nAnnual and long-term incentives available for select roles \nCompany-matching pension plan\nHealth benefits for you and your family \nGenerous vacation and personal days \nLearning and development programs\nEmployee recognition and rewards\nAnnual wellness allowance\nExplore our Careers site to see how we support your growth and wellbeing www.transalta.com/careers.\nOUR CULTURE\nAt TransAlta, we’re driven by a Culture of Results, Learning, and Purpose.
