If you’re ready to make a real impact in a dynamic industry, you bring the energy and we’ll provide the platform.\nFor more information about TransAlta, visit our website at,www.transalta.com.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nTransAlta has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate Wind Technician to join our Wind Operations team at our Windrise Wind Farm, located just 20km southwest of Fort Macleod, Alberta.\nAs a Wind Technician, you are primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Windrise wind asset through the application of operating and maintenance standards, procedures, and processes that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a Transalta position working along-side and taking direction from Siemens Gamesa and ensuring the portfolio adheres to TransAlta’s/Siemens operating model.\nThis is a full-time, salaried, safety-sensitive position based out of the Windrise site. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment testing.\nA DAY IN THE LIFE\nEnsure optimal performance through daily work of maintenance, service, and repair of wind turbine equipment as part of a team of wind technicians and contractors capable of producing the agreed deliverables\nSupport the daily operations and maintenance plan in alignment with the Supervisor’s business plan by driving operational performance, achievement of business results, and continuous improvement\nSupport the Supervisor and regional Manager as part of a high-performance team of employees and contractors to achieve the expected outcomes of the plants\nIdentifying and mitigating risks that could negatively impact the agreed outcomes or business results, and identifying and realizing opportunities that could positively impact the agreed outcomes or business results\nOperational compliance to EHS, NERC, OHS, etc., plant availability, and cost standards through adherence to TransAlta/Siemens operating procedures, policies, and applicable regulations\nDrive for results in the areas of safety, compliance, plant availability, and cost by ensuring all routine and preventative maintenance is performed accurately, on time, and of high quality and documented correctly\nContribute to a collaborative work environment within the team, peers, stakeholders, and support groups to ensure issues may be resolved in a professional and productive manner\nRequired to be adequately trained, qualified, and competent in their roles and compliant with training\nABOUT YOU\nAppropriate certification or education in a related discipline, and/or possess tangible and proven experience and skills\nElectrical or mechanical background is considered a strong asset \nComprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own discipline and knowledge of others\nUnderstanding of the operational aspects of the plant - technical, compliance, and financial\nThorough understanding of the TransAlta operation model\nPlant risk and related mitigation strategies\nUnderstanding of contractor requirements, procurement processes, and inventory management\nWell-versed understanding of how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives\nValid Class 5 Drivers License is required\nTHE PERKS\nCompetitive salary\nAnnual incentive program\nPension plan with company-matching options\nFlexible benefits for you and your family\nVacation and personal days\nEmployee Rewards & Recognition Programs\nAnnual Wellness Payment\nOUR CULTURE\nAt TransAlta, we’re driven by a Culture of Results, Learning, and Purpose.
