You will guide technical decisions, mentor engineers, facilitate Scrum, and partner with Product, QA, Architecture, DevOps, and Security to deliver high-quality software.\nYou will also help lead our agentic-first approach to software development -using AI and coding agents to increase engineering leverage while maintaining strong standards for architecture, security, quality, and reliability.\nWhat You'll Do\nTeam & Delivery Leadership\nLead and develop a Scrum team of approximately 4-7 engineers.\nConduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development.\nFacilitate Scrum ceremonies and promote effective Agile practices.\nPartner with Product and QA to refine work, define acceptance criteria, and align delivery with priorities.\nManage team capacity, commitments, risks, dependencies, and release milestones.\nBuild a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nTechnical Leadership\nChampion the development and adoption of agentic development best practices.\nProvide technical direction, lead design and architectural decisions within the team.\nRemain hands-on with design, coding, code reviews, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.\nGuide modernization efforts and promote sound engineering practices.\nChampion CI/CD, automated testing, observability, code quality, and technical debt reduction.\nPartner with Architecture, DevOps, Systems, and Security to build secure, scalable, reliable solutions.\nAgentic-First Engineering\nLead adoption of agentic development practices within the team.\nUse AI coding agents across planning, development, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, and documentation.\nHelp engineers provide agents with clear context, constraints, architecture, and acceptance criteria.\nEstablish practical standards for reviewing, testing, securing, and validating AI-generated code.\nIdentify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and delivery through agentic development.\nCollaboration\nWork effectively across Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, DevOps, and Security.\nCommunicate technical decisions, delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.\nContribute to broader Engineering practices and standards.\nWhat We're Looking For\n8-10 years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, or team leadership experience.\nStrong hands-on software development background.\nExperience with enterprise applications, SaaS, microservices, or distributed systems.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, SDLC, CI/CD, testing, and production support.\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments and facilitating Scrum ceremonies.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\nA strong sense of ownership and a drive to continuously learn and improve.\nExperience using AI coding agents or other agentic development tools, with an understanding of how to apply them responsibly and effectively.\nTechnical Environment\nExperience with technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript, relational databases, REST APIs, event-driven systems, AWS, CI/CD, and automated testing is beneficial.\nWe value strong engineering fundamentals and adaptability over experience with a specific technology stack.\nWhy This Role\nThis is an opportunity to shape more than what the team builds-you will help shape how the team builds software.\nAs a Team Lead, you will develop engineers, guide technical decisions, drive delivery, and help establish an agentic-first engineering model that increases the team's effectiveness and impact.\nWhat we believe...\nAt Modern Campus, we believe that a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace furthers relevance, resilience, and longevity.
