You will investigate customer and product data, develop analyses and models, and help deploy solutions that generate measurable business impact.\n The Role: Forward Deployed Data Science\nForward Deployed Data Scientists operate at the intersection of data science, product, engineering, and customer success.\nYou will collaborate directly with Translated’s enterprise customers and internal teams to understand their objectives, investigate their data, identify opportunities, and develop solutions tailored to their operational needs. These solutions may include analytical models, forecasting systems, performance metrics, experiments, dashboards, and data products.\nRather than working only on predefined datasets or isolated research questions, you will follow projects through their complete lifecycle: from problem definition and data discovery to implementation, validation, deployment, and communication of results.\nYou will gradually develop a deep understanding of Translated’s business, products, and technology, working across areas such as translation quality, operational efficiency, customer behavior, demand forecasting, marketing performance, and financial outcomes.\nSuccessful projects may become reusable capabilities integrated into Translated’s products, enterprise platform, or internal decision-making systems.\n Responsibilities\nWork directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into well-defined data problems.\nIdentify, access, and evaluate relevant internal and external data sources.\nConduct initial data investigations and exploratory data analysis.\nDevelop metrics, statistical analyses, machine learning models, and other data-driven solutions.\nDesign experiments and measurement frameworks to evaluate product and business initiatives.\nAnalyze customer behavior, operational performance, translation quality, revenue, costs, and other key business indicators.\nBuild prototypes and collaborate with engineering teams to turn successful analyses into reliable production solutions.\nCreate dashboards, reports, and visualizations that make complex findings accessible and actionable.\nPresent recommendations and results clearly to technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and customers.\nDefine success criteria, measure outcomes, and continuously improve deployed solutions.\nCollaborate with product managers, software engineers, AI researchers, sales teams, and customer-facing teams.\nHelp develop reusable analytical methods, tools, and best practices across the company.\nStay informed about developments in data science, machine learning, analytics, and applied AI.\n Requirements\n3+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Machine Learning, or a related quantitative role.\nStrong knowledge of statistics, probability, and experimental design.\nExcellent programming skills in Python.\nStrong experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets.\nExperience with data exploration, statistical modeling, machine learning, and model evaluation.\nAbility to transform ambiguous business questions into structured, measurable analytical problems.\nExperience defining business and product metrics and using data to support decision-making.\nFamiliarity with modern data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytical workflows.\nExperience with at least one business intelligence or data visualization tool, such as Metabase, Tableau, Superset, or a similar platform.\nAbility to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.\nAbility to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements.\nExcellent written and spoken English.\nBSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or another relevant quantitative field.\n Bonus Points If…\nYou have worked in a customer-facing, consulting, solutions engineering, or forward deployed role.\nYou have experience taking data science projects from initial discovery through deployment and business adoption.\nYou have worked with enterprise customers and complex operational processes.\nYou have experience with AWS and data technologies such as S3, Redshift, Redis, Spark, or similar systems.\nYou have experience with distributed data processing or large-scale computing tools.\nYou have worked with product analytics, forecasting, optimization, experimentation, or causal inference.\nYou have experience analyzing data from third-party platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, or other marketing and product systems.\nYou understand business metrics and channels such as revenue, gross margin, retention, conversion, SEO, SEM, paid acquisition, and mobile applications.\nYou have experience building dashboards and presenting insights to senior stakeholders or customers.\nYou have experience with NLP, Large Language Models, or multilingual technologies.\nYou have worked with data quality, monitoring, model observability, or production machine learning systems.\n Headquarter\nTranslated is hosted at Pi Campus, a working environment immersed in nature where six luxury villas in Rome, Italy, have been converted into functional offices designed to foster talent growth.
