This role is responsible for database administration, system administration, performance tuning, capacity planning, security management, and infrastructure support across Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with application development, support, network, and infrastructure teams to ensure the stability, availability, and security of enterprise systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nAdminister and maintain enterprise database platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Informix, MySQL, and other relational database management systems.\nInstall, configure, patch, monitor, and optimize database and application environments to ensure high availability and performance.\nPerform database sizing, design reviews, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database reorganization activities.\nMaintain Windows and Linux server infrastructure supporting business-critical applications.\nMonitor and respond to security incidents, system alerts, and operational issues in accordance with established procedures.\nPerform regular system and database patching to maintain compliance with information security requirements.\nSupport and maintain application servers and middleware technologies including JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, and related platforms.\nMaintain and support virtualization environments, including VMware and cloud-based infrastructure.\nCollaborate with application support and development teams to ensure systems are configured and maintained effectively.\nEvaluate, test, and implement new technologies, tools, and infrastructure solutions.\nSupport backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and annual business continuity planning (BCP) testing activities.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and system configurations.\nManage and resolve incidents, service requests, and change requests through ticketing systems such as Remedy.\nBuild, maintain, and monitor production services, ensuring system reliability and operational excellence.\nSupport batch processing environments and scheduled reporting systems.\nWork closely with network and infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility and performance across integrated environments.\nParticipate in on-call support and 24/7 support rotations as required.\nRequired Knowledge And Experiences\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on Database Administration experience.\nMinimum 5 years of Linux/Unix system administration experience.\nStrong knowledge of database technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Informix, MySQL, and similar platforms.\nExperience administering both Linux/Unix and Windows environments.\nHands-on experience with database performance tuning, capacity planning, database design, and troubleshooting.\nExperience installing and supporting enterprise software such as Red Hat, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Apache, JBoss, and Tomcat.\nKnowledge of Linux scripting and automation practices.\nExperience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.\nWorking knowledge of server infrastructure, networking, SAN storage, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), and enterprise IT environments.\nFamiliarity with configuration management and automation tools.\nExperience with load balancing technologies, firewalls, and network security concepts.\nProficiency with system monitoring and management tools such as Splunk, NGINX, HAProxy, iptables, and related technologies.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining service quality and operational stability.\nStrong understanding of Change Management processes and controls.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese.\nKnowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional certifications in Oracle, SQL Server, Linux, AWS, PostgreSQL, or related technologies.\nExperience supporting large-scale production environments and mission-critical applications.\nExposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and modern cloud architectures.\nExperience working in highly regulated or security-focused environments.\nTransUnion Overview:\nAt TransUnion, we encourage and are committed to creating a real, positive impact and shared sense of purpose within our Workforce for Good, which empowers our people to grow, innovate and contribute to a better future for our communities and customers.
