The role will not just see you provide this as an initial service, but you will then provide the means to which the development function can self serve to perform these installations via performant automated pipelines.\nAlong the way, you will be required to proactively lead or assist Product Delivery teams to troubleshoot issues within the database environments, provide consultancy in the area of Route to Live pipelines and their ongoing maintenance, plus ensuring that teams understand the critical importance of oversight in how data is managed and secured.\nAs solutions develop you will assist development teams ensure the operability of those solutions often providing a bridge between development and operational teams.\n\nThis is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.\nRole Overview And Core Responsibilities\nBuilding and maintaining optimised and highly available database platforms.\nBuilding and continuously improving CI/CD Pipelines to ensure databases are deployed and configured using automation technologies.\nEstablish consistent standards for providing highly available and fault tolerant systems.\nIdentify and execute on opportunities to automate and streamline processes.\nTroubleshooting data issues, providing consultancy in the area of data growth and ongoing maintenance.\nProof of Concept development to enhance and support the work of the UK IT Ops DBA team.\nContribute to community best practices.\nEnsure that systems are secure and compliant (SOX, PCI etc.).\nProvide supervisory and technical leadership for other engineers in the team.\nProvide UK business hours support for TU UK database platforms.\nProvide out of hours support as requires, as part of the DBA on-call rota duties\nRequired Knowledge And Experiences\nAt least five years experience working as a Senior SQL Server DBA, with MS SQL Server (2014-current)\nExperience of supporting PostGreSQL in an enterprise environment\nExperience with planning and delivering on database migrations and upgrades.\nAdvanced use of T-SQL (stored procedures, SQL Agent Jobs, Deployment automation)\nExperience of configuring and supporting High Availability / Disaster Recovery technologies (Mirroring, Always On Availability Groups)\nExperience of configuring and supporting Replication (especially transactional with centralised distribution)\nProven experience of working with sensitive data in a secure manner.\nSolid understanding of DevOps, Agile, Scrum, Kanban processes and methodologies\nFamiliarity with use of source control, especially around database projects (including branching, workflow, peer reviews etc.)\nGood technical understanding of TFS/Azure DevOps Server and Octopus Deploy.\nGood level of experience of PowerShell scripting and automation.\nExcellent troubleshooting/fault resolution skills.\nGood interpersonal and communication skills.\nWillingness to learn and embrace industry developments and practices from both a Development and Operations background.\nTransUnion Overview:\nAt TransUnion, we encourage and are committed to creating a real, positive impact and shared sense of purpose within our Workforce for Good, which empowers our people to grow, innovate and contribute to a better future for our communities and customers.
