This role reports to Senior Manager of Application Development.\n\nThis is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.Role Overview and Core Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and support large-scale Java-based enterprise applications and global platforms.\nLead the architecture and implementation of cloud-native, microservices-based solutions using modern engineering practices.\nBuild high-volume, low-latency applications capable of meeting stringent availability and performance objectives.\nDesign and develop REST APIs, event-driven services, and distributed systems that support global business operations.\nProvide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive engineering best practices across the team.\nImplement CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and software quality practices throughout the development lifecycle.\nEnsure platform reliability through monitoring, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.\nApply security best practices, secure coding standards, and data protection controls for highly regulated and sensitive data environments.\nUtilize AI-assisted development tools and integrate AI-powered capabilities where appropriate to improve engineering productivity and solutions.\nRequired Knowledge and Experiences\n6+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and modern software engineering practices.\nStrong experience designing and developing distributed systems, microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, and event-driven applications.\nExperience building cloud-native applications and deploying solutions on cloud platforms, with GCP preferred.\nExperience supporting mission-critical production systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and leading incident resolution efforts.\nExperience working with highly regulated data and implementing security controls, including authentication, encryption, authorization, and OWASP best practices.\nRequired Technical Skills\nJava and Spring ecosystem expertise including Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data.\nCloud platforms and container technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.\nCI/CD and development tools including Maven, Git, SonarQube, deployment automation, and testing frameworks.\nAutomated testing tools and frameworks including JUnit, TestNG, WireMock, and TestContainers.\nMonitoring, observability, logging, tracing, alerting, and performance tuning tools used in large-scale production environments.\nWe’re also looking for the preferred skills below.
