As a Senior Data Scientist on the Fraud Analytics team, you will apply advanced machine learning, statistical modeling, and data science techniques to detect emerging fraud patterns, reduce losses, and improve customer outcomes.\nYou will work alongside product, engineering, risk, and analytics teams to develop innovative solutions leveraging large-scale datasets and modern AI/ML technologies.\n\nThis is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.\nRole Overview And Core Responsibilities\nHow You’ll Contribute:\nPartner with data engineer in the innovation efforts for global technical development, deployment, and maintenance of the Fraud Detection & Monitoring Program using applicable data programming languages and visualization tools\nCollaborate with business and process owners to assess business risks, analyze data and propose hypotheses for new fraud detection and monitoring rules\nPerform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and behaviors indicative of potential fraud, abuse/misuse or violations, conducted by internal associates and external customer\nDesign and develop dashboards that alert on pre-defined rules and logic Collaborate with internal global stakeholders to determine needs and lead implementation of a robust reporting solution\nImplement temporary workarounds for any breakdowns in processes\nWork closely with the Global Technology and Data Architecture teams and provide technical design recommendations on the data mart structures that support analytical applications\nCreate user process documentation and FAQs for operational instruction as well as presentations and project plans that will be shared all levels of audiences\nUnderstand TransUnion’s products/services and partner with process owners to ensure technical requirements are prioritized, developed and delivered to meet specifications that will target fraud and misuse activities\nRequired Knowledge And Experiences\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience in related roles\nMinimum 2 years experience working with relational databases using SQL, Hive, Spark, Python or other data query and scripting languages\nKnowledge of statistical analysis, regression modelling and forecasting, data mining, financial analysis, and demand modelling, using statistical softwares\nExperience in fraud detection, fraud analytics, financial crime, payments risk, identity risk, account takeover prevention, chargeback mitigation, or related domains.\nDemonstrated expertise in performing data engineering work within Google Cloud ecosystem (GCP), designing and developing dashboards in visualization tools.\nExperience in large-scale datasets, analyzing data to solve business problems, and presenting impactful insights\nProven strong relationship-building and communication skills with team members, business users and cross-functional stakeholder\nRequires a complete understanding of the business intelligence development life cycle including the ability to lead collaboration discussions to gather the needs for desired outcomes for the BI solutions being built\nStrong communication skills and willingness to take initiative and contribute to business goals and objectives\nTransUnion Overview:\nAt TransUnion, we encourage and are committed to creating a real, positive impact and shared sense of purpose within our Workforce for Good, which empowers our people to grow, innovate and contribute to a better future for our communities and customers.
