Our 2,200-strong team works across service lines, ready to activate our full platform to deliver a customized, cohesive experience for clients.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role within the Tenant Advisory practice, providing advanced financial analysis and strategic insights to support corporate occupiers in real estate decision-making. This position is responsible for leading financial analysis and scenario development for complex lease and purchase transactions, developing sophisticated models that inform negotiations, market conditions, and delivering client-ready reports and recommendations that influence C-suite decisions.\nIn addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will contribute to business development by supporting brokers in pursuits, preparing abstracts, portfolio insights and identifying creative structuring opportunities that maximize tenant leverage. The role also includes mentoring junior analysts, improving team processes, and serving as a trusted advisor during client interactions.\nThe Senior Financial Analyst is expected to possess knowledge in various real estate asset types, understand asset cash flows, evaluate lease versus purchase scenarios, and stay informed about market conditions and dynamics.\nIt is also the responsibility of Senior Financial Analyst not only to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with tenants, prospective tenants, owners, team members, and vendors but also to focus on productivity and results.\nPOSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nLead financial analysis for high-value lease transactions, including new leases, renewals, subleases, buyouts, lease vs buy scenarios, and early restructures.\nIndependently build, refine, and maintain complex cash flow and scenario models.\nDevelop and explain lease accounting strategies using Cash, P&L, Balance Sheet, and EBITDA impact.\nSummarize and interpret lease documents, term sheets, proposals, and abstracts with attention to economics, concessions, and risk.\nPrepare executive-level presentations, provide RFP commentary, translate financial insights into clear strategic recommendations, and present findings confidently.\nParticipate in client meetings and calls, serving as the financial expert alongside brokers.\nDevelop detailed project scorecards, project timelines, and portfolio-level dashboards.\nResearch and synthesize market conditions, comparables, cost benchmarks, and landlord trends.\nManage a high volume of multiple projects, documents, and outputs with accuracy and organization.\nTrain and mentor junior Financial Analysts on modeling techniques, report formatting, and presentation standards.\nContribute to process improvement by enhancing financial templates, reporting packages, and visualization tools.\nSupport business development by collaborating with brokers on pursuits and client pitches.\nOther duties as assigned.\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:\nEducation:\nA bachelor’s degree with emphasis in real estate, finance, business administration, accounting, economics, or related field.\nA CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.\nA real estate license maintained in good standing.\nExperience:\n2-5 years of experience analyzing commercial real estate lease transactions.\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong understanding of financial and accounting principles (GAAP, DCF, IRR, NPV, sensitivit.y).\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 Excel, PowerPoint, and Word\nAdvanced experience with CoStar and LeaseCalcs.\nAbility to read and interpret leases, public filings, financial statements.\nFamiliarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools preferred.\nBuild cash flow models and in-depth.\nPersonal Skills:\nDemonstrate strong financial analytical and quantitative skill.\nAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.\nStrong marketing, presentation, and communications skills.\nStays abreast of current market conditions, practices, trends, and factors impacting CRE.\nAbility to find solutions and be self-managed / work independently.\nAbility to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal and external clients.\nAbility to keep information and internal communications confidential.\nExhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPhysical Skills:\nTravel may be required.\nSalary Range: $100,000 - $130,000\nEligible for performance based bonus program.\nWORK SHIFT:\nLOCATION:\nChicago, ILABOUT US\nOur firm is built on a shared purpose: Empowering good people to do extraordinary things together.
