This role blends efficiency, attention to detail, and impeccable service standards to ensure a seamless and elevated dining environment. The Server Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the flow of service, anticipating guest needs, and upholding the luxury standards of the hotel.\nKey responsibilities include resetting tables, refilling water and beverages, clearing used items, and assisting servers with food delivery and guest requests. The ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and professionalism is critical. This position requires a strong “client first” mindset and a background in foodservice or hospitality.\nPOSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nExpertly support servers by promptly clearing and resetting tables according to hotel standards and guest preferences.\n\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of dining room layout, table assignments, and service flow to anticipate team needs.\n\nEnsure that all tableware, glassware, and linens are clean, polished, and properly placed.\n\nAssist in delivering food and beverages to guests, ensuring accuracy and elegance in presentation.\n\nMonitor and refill water, coffee, and other non-alcoholic beverages throughout service.\n\nMaintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service station at all times.\n\nComply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of food and equipment.\n\nWork collaboratively and communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and hosts to ensure a seamless guest experience.\n\nParticipate in pre-service meetings and briefings to understand menu highlights and service priorities.\n\nMay require shift work, overtime, and/or on-call duties. See under “Other.”\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n POSITION REQUIREMENTS:\nHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.\n\nAll food employees must obtain a valid Food Handler Certification within 60 days of hire in accordance with Texas Food Establishment Rules. Employees involved in alcohol service must obtain TABC Certification prior to performing alcohol-service duties.\n\nMinimum of 2-3 years of experience in a hotel, country club, or fine dining environment.\n\nExtensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixology, including beverage “call names” and standard recipes.\n\nFamiliarity with responsible alcohol service guidelines and food handling/safety procedures.\n\nAbility to understand and follow general instructions in standard situations.\n\nStrong organizational and analytical skills.\n\nVerbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.\n\nHigh level of customer service orientation with the ability to engage and connect with a diverse guest population.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a proactive approach to guest service.\n\nPositive, professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.\n\nAbility to stoop, stand, reach, and frequently lift food and beverage items.\n\nWillingness to work extended periods without relief, as needed.\n\nMust be able to lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.\n\nComfortable working in a busy bar setting and assisting servers as needed.\n\nTeam members are required to adhere to all uniform, grooming, and hygiene standards, including wearing appropriate attire, hair restraints, and maintaining personal cleanliness.\n\nReliable attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.\n\nWork may involve exposure to heat, high-volume service periods, standing for extended periods, and repetitive motions.\n\nTeam members must follow all safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals, detergents, and sanitizers, and adhere to OSHA and HACCP standards.\n\nThe Employee may be required to work offsite or attend special events, catering functions, or hotel-related activities as needed.\n\nOther:\nHotel Granduca Houston operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Scheduling may vary based on operational needs, including shifts, start times, and total hours worked per week.
