With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing-and now looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to play a key role in our project delivery teams.\nThe Role\nAs an Electrical Supervisor you'll be supervising electrical teams and subcontractors, coordinating with mechanical and civil disciplines, ensuring compliance with UK electrical regulations, maintaining accurate documentation, and delivering electrical works safely, on time, and to specification.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n1) Team Supervision & Leadership\nSupervise electrical operatives, electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors on site. \nAllocate work based on competence, project priorities, and programme requirements. \nMonitor productivity, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.\n Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior electrical staff. \n2) Electrical Installation & Project Delivery\nOversee installation of electrical systems including containment, cabling, control panels, MCCs, motors, pumps, instrumentation interfaces, and power supplies. \nEnsure electrical works comply with design drawings, schematics, and specifications. \nCoordinate electrical activities with civil, mechanical, and process teams.\n Support electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning activities. \n 3) Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)\nEnforce site health, safety, and environmental procedures in line with UK legislation. \nEnsure compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. \nConduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and method statement briefings.\n Ensure safe isolation, lock-off, and permit-to-work procedures are followed.\n Investigate and report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices.\n 4) Quality Assurance & Compliance\nEnsure electrical installations meet BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and project standards. \nInspect completed works and ensure defects are rectified promptly. \nSupport FAT/SAT, ITPs, and QA/QC processes. \nEnsure compliance with client, regulatory, and water industry standards. \n5) Documentation & Reporting\nMaintain accurate records of daily activities, workforce attendance, and materials used. \nReview and sign off electrical test results, inspection records, and commissioning documentation. \nAssist in preparing progress reports, as-built records, and handover documentation. \nEnsure electrical documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.\n6) Communication & Coordination\nLiaise with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Site Mangers and Client representatives. \nCoordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of works.\n Communicate progress, risks, and resource requirements effectively. \n7) Core Values\nUphold and promote the Company’s Core Values - Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability. \nWhat We’re Looking For\nEssential\nGCSEs / Functional Skills in Maths and English.\nNVQ Level 3 or 4 in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)\nElectrical installation on industrial or infrastructure projects (5-7years)\nExperience in a supervisory role (2-3years)\nApplicants must be legally authorised to work in the UK, as we are unable to sponsor work visas for this role.\nHappy to travel to other sites\nDesirable\nCSCS Skilled Worker Card\nSMSTS\nWhy Join Trant?\nAt Trant Engineering, we deliver complex, high-value engineering and construction projects across the UK.
