With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing-and now looking for a Site Manager to play a key role in our project delivery teams.\n\nThe Role\nWithin Trant, the primary duty of the Site Manager is to ensure safe and compliant practices on their site. The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities for their dedicated site, ensuring works are delivered on schedule, within budget, to SHEQ standards, clients contract conditions and regulatory standards. The role manages site personnel, coordinates subcontractors, and acts as a key interface between construction, engineering, and commissioning teams.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nTechnical Responsibilities: Site Management\nManage and supervise site teams, including subcontractors and operatives.\nEnsure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of construction and installation works.\nManage site resources, plant, and materials effectively.\nMaintain quality standards, inspections, and defect management.\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nCarry out duties in accordance with Company Management System, Policies, Statutory and Client requirements.\nEnsure all site activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.\nMonitor site progress against programme and report issues or delays to the Senior Site Manager / Project Manager.\nConduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.\nFollow CDM Regulations, site rules, permits to work, and isolation procedures.\nProvide regular site progress reports, including programme updates and resource usage.\nMaintain site records, quality documentation, and Health & Safety logs.\nSupport audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.\nStakeholder Management\nAct as a primary site interface for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.\nCoordinate with design, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure works are aligned with project requirements.\nClose liaison with commercial and planning staff to ensure that work proceeds within budget and schedule. \nResolve site issues proactively, escalating to Project Manager as required.\nSupport handover and client acceptance activities.\nCore Values\n\nUphold and promote the Company’s Core Values - Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n Essential\nSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent site management health and safety certification.\nProven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager delivering projects in the water and or energy sectors.\nExperience managing multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.\nExperience overseeing site delivery on programme, within budget, and to quality standards.\n Demonstrable experience in health, safety, and environmental compliance on construction or engineering sites.\n Desirable\nHNC, HND, or Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, or related Engineering discipline.\nCDM Coordinator/Management training relevant to UK construction projects.\nExperience working on AMP, D&B, EPC, or regulated utility frameworks.\nExposure to commissioning or handover activities, coordinating closely with engineering and commissioning teams.\nExperience liaising with clients, regulators, and statutory authorities on-site.\nWhy Join Trant?\nAt Trant Engineering, we deliver complex, high-value engineering and construction projects across the UK.
