With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing-and now looking for a Yard Operative to play a key role in our project delivery teams.\n\nThe Role\nThe Yard Operative will support the efficient operation of the Plant and Transport Department by maintaining yard, handling plant and equipment and ensuring safe, organised and compliant movement of materials and machinery.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nTechnical Responsibilities:\nMaintain a clean, safe and well organised yard at all times. \nAssist with preparation of plant and equipment for site deployment.\nPlan plant and equipment logistics.\nMove, position and secure vehicles within the yard. \nClean plant, machinery and vehicles as required. \nAssist with minor maintenance tasks under instruction. \nUndertake driving duties when vehicles need to be taken to site or to the MOT centre.\n Stakeholder Communication:\nAct in a timely manner to questions or queries from internal departments or external suppliers.\nHealth & Safety, Quality and Environmental:\nFollow all company Health and Safety procedures. \nCarry out tasks in accordance with risk assessments and method statements. \nUse correct PPE at all times.\nCore Values:\nUphold and promote the Company’s Core Values - Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nEssential\nExperience working in a yard, plant or engineering environment. \nGood awareness of Health & Safety practices.\nStrong understanding of plant machinery, transport vehicles and equipment capabilities. \nApplicants must be legally authorised to work in the UK, as we are unable to sponsor work visas for this role.\n Desirable\nForklift or telehandler tickets.\nCSCS card.\nWhy Join Trant ?\nAt Trant Engineering, we deliver complex, high-value engineering and construction projects across the UK.
