Responsibilities include overseeing scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring compliance with standards, and promoting sustainability principles throughout the project lifecycle. The role also demands strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and represent the organization professionally.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nGENERAL CHARACTERISTICS\nIndependently applies extensive and diverse knowledge of EICA engineering principles and practices across broad areas of assignments and related fields.\nModifies or extends accepted theories and practices to complete complex assignments.\nDemonstrates professional attitudes such as creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and dependability.\nActively promotes consideration of sustainability principles throughout the design lifecycle.\nKeeps informed of updates to standards, regulations, and best practices.\n\nTECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nLeads tasks and projects of moderately complex scope or major project components.\nDesigns complete projects, systems, components, or processes.\nDevelops EICA specifications, drawings, and other project documents.\nReviews complete project documentation for compliance and quality assurance.\nAnalyzes complex engineering projects to determine design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints.\nFormulates solutions for unconventional or challenging engineering problems.\nAssists upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.\n\nSCHEDULE, PROJECT & TASK MANAGEMENT\nDevelops work plans with resource-loaded schedules, scopes, and budgets.\nPerforms basic schedule analysis and assesses project risks.\nReviews and monitors scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.\nLeads tasks on major projects or multiple projects of moderate scope with complex features.\nProactively implements change management practices and assesses the commercial impact of decisions. \n\nMANAGEMENT, SUPERVISION & GUIDANCE\nSupervises all staff necessary to complete assignments.\nMentors direct reports and other engineers, providing guidance and reviewing work outputs.\nReceives supervision and guidance on overall objectives, critical issues, and policy matters.\nProvides direction on unusual conditions and developments.\n\nCOMMUNICATION, TEAMWORK & LEADERSHIP\nPossesses advanced oral and written communication skills, including interpretation of complex technical and contractual language. \nCommunicates professionally with colleagues, clients, and design partners. \nLeads project meetings and represents the organization in communications related to engineering assignments.\nConsiders the needs of diverse project stakeholders and fosters inclusion.\nSustains a team culture built around Trant’s core values. \nDemonstrates empathy, critical listening, and effective conflict resolution skills. \n\nCORE VALUES\n Upholds and promotes the Company’s Core Values - Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n Essential\nHigher Education (NVQ+)\n Desirable\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred). \nIncorporated/Chartered Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution\nCSCS Card or SHEA Water Qualification\nEUSR Water Hygiene Qualification\n Experience\nTypically 7+ years of engineering experience, including project leadership and technical oversight.\nWhy Join Trant?\nAt Trant Engineering, we deliver complex, high-value engineering and construction projects across the UK.
