The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.\nSalary Range\n$45,400.00 - $74,900.00Target Openings\n3What Is the Opportunity?\nAs an Associate Claim Rep, Auto Damage, you will receive comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation while working alongside experienced claim professionals. This position focuses on developing your skills and knowledge to successfully manage personal and business insurance damage claims involving various types of automobiles as well as heavy equipment, mobile equipment, and property damage. This role involves frequent customer interactions through telephone and written communications. This program is typically 9-12 months and upon successful completion of this program you will have the skills needed to handle claims independently and progress toward full claims handling responsibility.What Will You Do?\nActively participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies, specific claim processes, systems, and procedures, including virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training.\nAssess coverage to determine compensability.\nInvestigate by gathering information from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses.\nPartner with resources, as needed, to obtain other evidence in order to properly handle the claim. Assess claims for potential fraud.\nEstablish appropriate claim reserves, determine the claim resolution amount, and issue accurate payments.\nDevelop and execute action plans for effective claim resolution.\nCommunicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status, including business customers.\nMaintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.\nDemonstrate openness to continuous learning, particularly in AI and digital transformation.\nAdapt to new workflows, technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts while maintaining productivity and service quality.\nAcquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers’ requirements within three months of starting the job.\nPerform other duties as assigned. \nWhat Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?\nBachelor’s Degree.\nPrevious internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.\nWillingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.\nAbility to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority.\nExceptional customer service skills and commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants.\nAttention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.\nBasic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn techniques for facilitating productive discussions and negotiations.\nDemonstrated openness to continuous learning.\nWhat is a Must Have?\nHigh School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience.\nWhat Is in It for You?\nHealth Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members - including spouses, domestic partners, and children - are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.\n Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
