You’ll work closely with Product, UX/UI, back-end engineering and other technology teams to turn customer and business requirements into intuitive, reliable and scalable digital experiences.\nWe’re looking for someone who can take real ownership - from understanding the problem and shaping the technical solution through development, testing, deployment, production support and ongoing optimisation.\nLocation: Cape Town, South Africa (Our office is located in Gardens)\nWhat you’ll be doing\nBuild great web and mobile experiences\nDevelop, maintain and enhance responsive customer-facing web applications.\nBuild and improve mobile applications across supported platforms.\nTranslate product requirements and UX/UI designs into polished, high-quality digital experiences.\nBuild reusable, maintainable front-end components and contribute to shared design patterns.\nIntegrate web and mobile applications with APIs, authentication, payment services and other platform capabilities.\nWork with mobile-specific functionality such as push notifications, deep linking and device capabilities.\nSupport mobile application versioning and App Store / Google Play releases.\nKeep performance, usability, accessibility and responsive design front of mind.\nOwn the engineering quality\nWrite clean, efficient, secure and maintainable code.\nApply sound software engineering principles, patterns and coding standards.\nActively participate in peer code reviews.\nDevelop and maintain appropriate automated tests.\nIdentify and address technical debt.\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical and production issues.\nContribute to better engineering practices, tooling and technical standards.\nHelp shape technical solutions\nAs a senior developer, you won’t simply be handed tickets to execute.\nYou’ll be expected to understand the problem, contribute to solution design and make sound technical decisions that balance performance, scalability, security, maintainability, customer impact and delivery speed.\nYou’ll identify dependencies and risks early, contribute to architectural discussions and help shape technical decisions affecting our customer-facing platforms.\nWork closely with Product and Engineering\nPartner with Product Owners, Product Managers and UX/UI teams to understand and refine requirements.\nParticipate in planning, estimation and delivery activities.\nBreak larger requirements into practical technical deliverables.\nSupport testing, deployment and release activities.\nUse customer feedback, analytics and application performance information to drive continuous improvement.\nWork collaboratively across front-end, mobile, back-end, platform, QA, Product and Design teams.\nTake ownership in production\nDelivery doesn’t end when the code is deployed.\nYou’ll monitor the performance and reliability of our web and mobile applications, investigate production incidents and defects, identify root causes and help improve our monitoring, logging and diagnostic capability.\nWe expect our senior developers to own what they build.\nWhat we’re looking for\nYou’ll have strong practical experience in modern front-end development, together with demonstrable experience developing and supporting production mobile applications.\nYour technical toolkit is likely to include:\nJavaScript and TypeScript.\nReact or similar modern front-end frameworks.\nReact Native, Flutter or equivalent mobile development frameworks.\nHTML5 and CSS.\nResponsive and mobile-first development.\nComponent-based application architecture.\nRESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.\nAuthentication and authorisation patterns.\nGit and modern source-control practices.\nAutomated testing and testing frameworks.\nCI/CD environments.\nApplication monitoring and debugging.\nApp Store and Google Play deployment processes.\nSecure software development principles.\nExperience working in cloud-hosted, API-driven, high-volume or transactional digital environments would be an advantage.\nExperience using AI tools and AI-enabled development workflows is also preferred.\nExperience\nWe’re looking for someone with:\nStrong professional software development experience.\nSolid experience developing modern customer-facing web applications.\nPractical experience developing and supporting production mobile applications.\nExperience integrating front-end and mobile applications with APIs and back-end services.\nExperience across the software development lifecycle.\nExperience with automated testing and modern engineering practices.\nExperience working in Agile or iterative software delivery environments.\nExperience supporting applications in a live production environment.\nA relevant qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field is welcomed, although strong equivalent practical experience is equally relevant.\nWhat
