You will monitor security systems, analyse alerts, and follow established procedures to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information assets. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in security and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.\nResponsibilities:\nSecurity Monitoring:Continuously monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, and other security platforms for alerts and potential threats.\n\nAlert Triage and Analysis:Analyze security alerts to determine their validity, severity, and potential impact, following established triage procedures.\n\nIncident Response:Participate in the initial stages of incident response by following documented playbooks and procedures to contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents.\n\nEscalation:Escalate complex or high-severity security events and incidents to Field Management or other relevant teams in a timely and informative manner.\n\nDocumentation:Accurately document all security events, incidents, and actions taken in accordance with established procedures.\n\nCommunication:Effectively communicate security events and incidents to relevant stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates using AUROR.\n\nKnowledge Management:Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOC documentation, including playbooks, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).\n\nContinuous Improvement:Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and tools.\n\nCollaboration:Work collaboratively with other security team members and IT personnel to ensure a cohesive and effective security posture.\n\nCompliance:Adhere to all relevant security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.\n\nQualifications:\nEssential:\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nFlexibility with working hours\n\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.\n\nSIA (Security Industry Authority) Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) license.\n\nGood communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.\n\nBasic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Google, Linux).\n\nProficiency in using computer systems and common office applications.\n\nDesirable:\nPrevious experience in a security-related role (e.g., help desk with security focus, junior security analyst).\n\nFamiliarity with security monitoring tools and SIEM systems.\n\nKnowledge of common security threats and vulnerabilities.\n\nRelevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+).\n\nExperience with ticketing systems.\n\nPersonal Attributes:\nProactive and self-motivated.\n\nAbility to remain calm and focused under pressure.\n\nAdaptable and willing to learn new technologies.\n\nStrong work ethic and a commitment to security best practices.\n\nPositive attitude and a team-oriented approach.\n\nShift times:\nThe role will predominantly involve working mornings and rotating weekdays.
