Our business model sits at the intersection of energy, tech, and finance, which makes our accounting more complex and more interesting than a typical start-up ledger.\nYou'll start hands-on with day-to-day accounting and keep the books clean as volumes grow. At the same time, you'll spot the manual steps in your work and get room to automate them. You'll also be part of our ERP rollout. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own their area, not just process it.\nWhat You'll Own\nAccounts Payable\nProcess, check, and post incoming invoices from Moss into DATEV, including correct VAT treatment\n\nHandle expenses and credit card bookings\n\nMaintain vendor master data and keep supplier accounts reconciled\n\nPrepare payment runs\n\nMonth-End Support\nReconcile bank transactions\n\nPrepare accruals and reconciliations for your areas\n\nSupport the monthly close and year-end, working with our auditors\n\nKeep documentation GoBD-compliant and audit-ready\n\nPartner with Ops, Procurement and budget owners to resolve invoice and cost questions\n\nBuild & Improve\nSpot manual steps in your processes and automate them\n\nContribute to our ERP rollout\n\nWho You Are\nMust-haves\n2 to 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, ideally in accounts payable\n\nComfortable when processes don't exist yet. You help create them instead of waiting for them\n\nSolid understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT basics\n\nPrecise and fast. You care about getting it right and getting it done\n\nAnalytical and confident in Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliations\n\nFluent in English\n\nNice-to-haves\nGerman is a strong plus (B1 or better): most of our vendor invoices and much of our supplier communication are in German\n\nExperience in a fast-growing company (start-up or scale-up), or at a tax firm serving start-up clients\n\nHands-on with DATEV Rechnungswesen and DATEV Unternehmen online (DUO)\n\nTraining as Steuerfachangestellte/r or Kaufmann/-frau\n\nExperience with Moss or similar spend management tools\n\nAutomation experience or strong tech curiosity: you've built workflows with n8n, Zapier, or Make, or used Claude Code or similar AI tools\n\nYour First 90 Days\nMonth 1: Learn\nUnderstand our business model, our accounting setup, and our tools (Moss, DATEV). Take over your first recurring bookings.\n\nMonth 2: Own\nRun accounts payable and bank postings independently. Support your first month-end close.\n\nMonth 3: Improve\nDeliver your areas on time each month. Propose and ship your first automation or process improvement.\n\nThe Team\nYou'll join a fast-growing Finance team of around ten people across Accounting, Billing, Collections, FP&A, Treasury, and Strategic Finance. You'll work closely with colleagues across these areas and see how your bookings flow into cash and planning.
