The ideal candidate will have strong production experience with React Native and will be capable of independently owning complex features, solving challenging technical problems, and contributing to the technical direction of the mobile application. This is a hands-on senior engineering role. We are looking for someone who can balance feature delivery with engineering quality, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability. While React Native will be the primary area of ownership, exposure to web technologies such as React/Next.js and backend technologies such as Node.js/NestJS will be highly valuable for understanding and contributing to end-to-end product development.\n\nThe core responsibilities for the job include the following:\n\nTechnical and Feature Ownership:\nOwn complex mobile features and technical initiatives from requirement analysis through production release.\nTranslate product requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.\nBreak down complex problems into technical designs and implementation plans.\nIndependently drive initiatives with minimal supervision.\nIdentify technical risks and proactively address them.\nCollaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, Web, and QA teams.\nTake ownership of production issues and drive them through to resolution.\nUnderstand dependencies and interactions across mobile, web, and backend systems.\n\nReact Native and Mobile Engineering:\nBuild scalable and high-performance applications using React Native and TypeScript.\nDemonstrate strong understanding of React Native architecture and application lifecycle.\nDesign reusable components and scalable application patterns.\nDebug complex issues across the React Native and native platform boundary.\nWork with native iOS/Android capabilities when required.\nEvaluate libraries, frameworks, and technical approaches for mobile development.\nContribute to technical architecture and design decisions.\nEstablish and promote best practices across the mobile codebase.\n\nFull-Stack and Cross-Platform Collaboration:\nUnderstand the end-to-end architecture of features spanning mobile, web, and backend systems.\nCollaborate effectively with web engineers working with React and Next.js.\nCollaborate with backend engineers working with Node.js/NestJS and REST APIs.\nUnderstand API contracts, authentication, data flow, and error handling across client and server.\nParticipate in technical discussions involving frontend, backend, and mobile architecture.\nWhere required, contribute small changes or debugging fixes outside the primary mobile codebase.\nIdentify technical issues that span multiple layers and help drive them to resolution.\n\nPerformance and Reliability:\nIdentify and resolve mobile performance bottlenecks.\nImprove areas such as application startup time, rendering performance, memory usage, and bundle size.\nInvestigate production crashes, ANRs, and other reliability issues.\nImprove application stability and overall user experience.\nUse monitoring and crash analytics tools to identify and resolve production issues.\nProactively identify areas that can impact application performance or reliability.\n\nEngineering Excellence:\nDrive improvements in coding standards, testing, and engineering practices.\nIdentify and proactively address technical debt.\nImprove development, debugging, and release workflows.\nContribute to mobile CI/CD and release processes.\nParticipate actively in code and design reviews.\nEstablish reusable patterns and best practices across the mobile codebase.\nContribute to improving developer experience and engineering productivity.\n\nMentoring and Technical Leadership:\nMentor junior and mid-level engineers.\nProvide meaningful and constructive code-review feedback.\nHelp engineers improve their technical problem-solving skills.\nLead technical discussions within the team.\nShare knowledge through documentation, technical sessions, and design discussions.\nAct as a technical point of contact for complex React Native and mobile engineering problems.\nHelp establish engineering standards and best practices within the team.\n\nRequirements: \n5-6 years of software engineering experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with React Native in production applications.\nStrong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.\nStrong understanding of React fundamentals, architecture, and rendering.\nStrong understanding of mobile application architecture and lifecycle.\nExperience designing and implementing complex mobile features.\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills.\nExperience troubleshooting production issues.\nGood understanding of REST APIs, networking, and asynchronous programming.\nExperience with automated testing.\nStrong understanding of Git and modern software development workflows.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nPrimary Technology: React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Mobile Architecture.\nPreferred Additional Technologies: Next.js, Node.js, NestJS, iOS, Android, CI/CD, Observability.\n\nThe core goods to have for the job include the following:\n\nWeb Development:\nHands-on experience with React.js.\nExperience with Next.js.\nUnderstanding of modern web application architecture.\nExperience working with server-side rendering, routing, caching, or web performance is a plus.\nAbility to understand and debug issues across web and mobile applications.\n\nBackend Development:\nExperience or strong exposure to Node.js.\nExperience with NestJS or similar backend frameworks.\nUnderstanding of REST API design and backend architecture.\nUnderstanding of authentication, authorization, caching, and database interactions.\nAbility to understand backend implementation and debug issues across the client-server boundary.\n\nNative Mobile Development:\nGood understanding of at least one native mobile platform.\nExperience with iOS / Swift / Objective-C or Android / Kotlin / Java.\nExperience with native modules and platform APIs.\nUnderstanding of native build systems and dependencies.\nExperience with app lifecycle, push notifications, deep linking, and permissions.\nPlatform-specific debugging experience.\n\nPerformance and Observability:\nExperience with React Native performance optimization, rendering and UI performance, memory optimization, application startup optimization, crash and ANR analysis, network performance, and bundle size optimization.\nProduction monitoring and observability.\nExperience with Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, or similar tools is a plus.\n\nCI/CD and Release:\nUnderstanding of mobile CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with automated build, testing, and deployment workflows.\nUnderstanding of iOS and Android release processes.\nExperience with App Store and Google Play release workflows.\nFamiliarity with GitHub Actions, Bitrise, EAS, or equivalent CI/CD platforms is a plus.\n\nAdditional Good to
