We’re replacing manual processes and legacy systems with AI-native software built around how construction actually runs. Companies using our software have built some of America’s greatest infrastructure projects like the Buffalo Bills’ Highmark Stadium and JFK International Airport.\nWe're building the category-defining back office for trade contractors with a platform that runs live payroll, job costing, and accounting workflows every week for the hardest-working people in the country. We grew 600% over the last year with a lean team of ~30, made up of some of the sharpest and most driven talent in New York.\nWe were in Y Combinator’s Summer 2023 batch and have raised over $15 million from investors including Suffolk Technologies, White Star Capital and RXR. We’re proudly and permanently based in NYC. We’re in the next phase of growth, and every hire here directly shapes what customers see next.\nIn September 2026 we launched Trayd Accounting, built around the job instead of the general ledger, so contractors can see job profitability, WIP and financial statements in the same system that runs their payroll. Ostrow Electric and Prickel Electric are among the first contractors on it. Read the announcement.\nThe role\nWe’re hiring an Accounting Product Consultant to own Trayd Accounting: our newest and highest-value product line, and the one where the implementation is the product.\nYou are the first non-engineer on this team. Today, Trayd Accounting is delivered by a team of engineers who built the extraction and import tooling that moves a customer’s entire accounting history out of old on-prem systems and into Trayd. That tooling now runs an implementation in about an hour instead of several days. What it cannot do is sit with a controller, understand how they actually close their books, prove that our numbers match theirs, and train their team to work in a new system. That is your job.\nYou’ll own accounting implementations end to end, carrying two to three at a time on arrival and more as the tooling matures. When an account reaches steady state, you hand the relationship to a CSM or Account Manager and stay on as the accounting expert they pull back in.\nCritical skills for this role\nReal accounting fluency. You can read an income statement, trace a job cost report, and tell whether two systems agree, without being walked through it.\nComfort proving your own work wrong. Every implementation includes an attestation step where you demonstrate that Trayd’s numbers match the customer’s legacy system exactly. Finding the discrepancy before the customer does is the job.\nEnough systems aptitude to trust tooling but verify output. You’ll run a data extraction and import pipeline daily. You do not need to build it. You do need to know when it produced something wrong.\nThe judgment to tell a configuration decision from a genuine product gap, and to write the gap up cleanly enough that Engineering can act on it.\nComfort being the technical voice with a controller or CFO who has run their books the same way for fifteen years.\nGenuine interest in going deep on one part of the product rather than broad across all of it.\nWhat you’ll do\nRun the implementations\nOwn accounting implementations end to end: historical data migration, income statement and job cost attestation, revenue tracking setup, billing configuration, WIP reporting, and month-end flows.\nRun the extraction and import pipeline yourself, on customer source systems.\nTrain the customer’s accounting team through their first real close on Trayd.\nCarry two to three concurrent implementations to start, growing as the tooling improves.\nOwn the vertical\nDevelop a mastery of Trayd’s product offerings, business model, services, emerging technologies, and Customer Success best practices.\nBe the default answer for Trayd Accounting questions across every Trayd account, regardless of tier.\nStay available after an account graduates as the accounting expert a CSM or Account Manager brings back in.\nOwn the Trayd Accounting queue in our support tooling.\nBuild the depth others rely on\nTurn recurring questions into documentation, configuration templates, and AI skill content, so the answer doesn’t have to come from you personally every time.\nFlag patterns across accounts, not just one-off tickets, to Product and R&D as genuine roadmap input. You will see the same gap across five customers before anyone else does.\nWork across teams\nPartner with CSMs and Account Managers on their accounts without taking over the relationship. They own the client, you own the domain.\nWrite Engineering a report they can act on when something in the pipeline turns out to be an actual bug.\nCoordinate with the Implementation team on the payroll side of the same customer.\nWhy this role is different\nYou are first. The vertical is new, the playbook is not written, and you will write a large part of it.\nSerious tooling behind you. You are not doing this with spreadsheets. You are running a purpose-built extraction and import pipeline that gets better every month, in part because of what you report back.\nProduct-adjacent. A dotted line into Product and R&D means your pattern recognition across accounts becomes genuine input, not just repeated answers.\nNo book, no quota. You’re measured on delivery quality and depth in your vertical, not a revenue number.\nWho you are\nTwo or more years in accounting, from public accounting, industry, or a mix. Audit, assurance, or general ledger backgrounds all work.\nYou’ve built something without a playbook before, whether a process, a tool or a new function, and you enjoyed it.\nComfortable owning a deliverable with a real deadline and real consequences when it is wrong.\nOrganized enough to run several implementations in parallel without losing track of what’s open.\nComfortable being the technical voice in the room, including in front of a client’s senior stakeholders.\nEnough technical judgment to write an actual bug report, not just describe symptoms.\nNYC-based or ready to relocate quickly.\nNice to have\nExperience implementing or supporting accounting or financial software, either vendor-side (implementations, solutions consulting) or as an in-house accountant at a software company.\nConstruction accounting exposure: WIP, percentage of completion, job costing, schedules of values, payment applications, AIA billing. We will teach this if you have the accounting fundamentals, so treat it as a plus and not a bar.\nCPA, or CPA-eligible and working toward it.\nHands-on experience with Foundation, Sage 300, CF Data, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks in a construction context.\nComfort with AI tools for turning repeat questions into documentation and skill content.\nWorking style\nThis is an in-person role in Manhattan, five days a week. We move quickly, collaborate constantly, and value people who take initiative and ownership.\nCompensation/Benefits\nBase Salary $105,000-$125,000\nMeaningful Series A equity\nBenefits\nHealthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options for employees and dependents\nUnlimited/Flexible PTO\n401(k) Retirement Plan\nFree lunch (Mon-Wed) and dinner (Mon-Thu after 7:30pm) for in-office roles\nTrayd is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas for this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.\nThe posted range represents the typical compensation range for this role. To determine actual compensation we review the market rate of each candidate which can include a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, interview performance, and location.\nTrayd provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.","description_format":"text","description_chars":8193,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Retirement plans","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["Payroll Services","Construction Management Software"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T20:51:40Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":10,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.291,"p_room":0.35,"age_days":55,"expected_fill_days":26,"reasons":["conf:0","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-10-26T05:57:25Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":105000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/trayd-accounting-product-consultant","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/trayd-accounting-product-consultant.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-26T11:01:13Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":14899,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-27T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":3778904},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=3778904"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ftrayd-accounting-product-consultant"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ftrayd-accounting-product-consultant"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ftrayd-accounting-product-consultant"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/trayd-accounting-product-consultant\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ftrayd-accounting-product-consultant"}]}
