This individual is responsible for ensuring participant safety, supporting protocol execution, reviewing clinical data, and contributing to high-quality study conduct in accordance with GCP, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.\nWorking collaboratively across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Safety, Biometrics, Regulatory Affairs, and external partners, the Medical Director helps ensure studies are conducted efficiently while maintaining scientific integrity and patient safety.\nKey Responsibilities\nMedical Oversight\nServe as the medical monitor for one or more clinical studies.\nReview safety data and emerging clinical information throughout study conduct.\nProvide timely medical guidance to investigative sites and CRO partners.\nParticipate in eligibility reviews, protocol deviation assessments, and subject management discussions.\nReview serious adverse events (SAEs), adverse events of special interest (AESIs), and other safety information in collaboration with Pharmacovigilance.\nSupport medical decision-making regarding dose modifications, discontinuations, and subject management.\nStudy Conduct\nPartner with Clinical Operations to support successful study execution.\nParticipate in investigator meetings, site training, and study initiation activities.\nContribute to protocol development, informed consent documents, and study-related medical materials.\nReview clinical data for consistency, trends, and subject safety.\nParticipate in data review meetings and support database lock activities.\nCross-functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Medical Writing, Regulatory Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.\nProvide medical input for regulatory submissions and responses to health authorities.\nSupport, safety review meetings as needed.\nContribute to preparation of clinical study reports and publications.\nExternal Relationships\nDevelop productive relationships with investigators andkey opinion leaders\nServe as a medical representative for assigned studies during internal and external meetings.\n\nQualifications\nEducation\nMD required.\nBoard certification or board eligibility in hematology / oncology.\nExperience\n5+ years of clinical experience and/or pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.\nExperience serving as a Medical Monitor or Medical Director for interventional clinical trials.\nExperience supporting Phase 1 clinical studies in hematology / oncology preferred..\nKnowledge & Skills\nStrong understanding of ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and clinical trial conduct.\nExperience reviewing safety data and making medical decisions during clinical trials.\nAbility to interpret clinical data and identify emerging safety signals.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced biotech environment with significant cross-functional collaboration.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nPreferred Attributes\nCollaborative team player who enjoys working across functions.\nAble to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.\nComfortable working with external CROs and investigators.\nDemonstrates sound medical judgment and a patient-focused mindset.\nThrives in a dynamic, evolving biotech environment.\nOperate with a high degree of independence while partnering closely with cross-functional teams.\nContribute to clinical development strategy beyond day-to-day study oversight.\nSupport due diligence, investigator engagement, and program planning as needed.\nWillingness to take on responsibilities that evolve with the company's pipeline and stage of development.\nThis position is classified as exempt. The anticipated annual base salary range for candidates who will work in Watertown is $302,276 - $370,530. The final base salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent upon several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, and other factors.
