This role is focused on data center networking, load balancing, and core network services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all platforms.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nStrategic Support & Risk Awareness\nProactively identify operational risks, performance issues, and security gaps within network and infrastructure environments\nMonitor trends, alerts, and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement of network reliability and security\nContribute technical input to infrastructure and network strategy under the direction of IT leadership\nNetwork Design & Implementation\nDesign, configure, and support enterprise network infrastructure across UK-based data centers and offices\nImplement and maintain FortiGate firewalls, including policies, NAT, and high-availability configurations\nDeploy and support FortiADC load balancers, including application delivery, traffic distribution, and high-availability designs\nConfigure and manage Dell L2/L3 switching environments, including VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing\nDesign and maintain core routing architecture using protocols such as OSPF\nProvide secure VPN access into the data center for administrative and operational access\nOperations & Troubleshooting\nProvide advanced troubleshooting across routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing platforms\nSupport network monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high availability and performance\nParticipate in incident response and root cause analysis for network-related outages\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement and maintain network security controls aligned with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus\nEnsure proper segmentation, VLAN design, and access controls across environments\nSupport audit activities through documentation, configurations, and evidence collection\n Change Management & Documentation\nSupport network connectivity for co-located UK data center environments\nManage cross-connects, switching infrastructure, and carrier handoffs\nEnsure resilient and redundant network designs aligned to production requirements\nFortinet Firewalls (FortiGate)\nFortiADC (load balancing and application delivery)\nDell networking (Layer 2 / Layer 3 switching platforms)\nRouting (OSPF)\nVLAN design and network segmentation\nLayer 2 / Layer 3 switching\nWhat You Bring to the Role:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.\nRelevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent are preferred.\nExperience:\n7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience in data center-centric environments\nStrong hands-on experience with:\nDeep experience with:\nExperience supporting high-availability network architectures\nExperience supporting ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus compliance environments\nExperience working in 24x7 production environments with on-call responsibilities\nSkills:\nCore Networking\nAdvanced TCP/IP networking fundamentals\nRouting, switching, VLANs, and segmentation\nDell switch configuration and troubleshooting\nLoad Balancing & Application Delivery\nFortiADC configuration and support\nTraffic distribution, persistence, health checks, and high availability\nFirewall & Security\nFortiGate configuration, NAT, policy management, logging, and high availability\nNetwork segmentation and access control\nConnectivity\nSecure remote access via VPN for administrative and operational use\nWork Environment:\nThis position offers remote-first flexibility, with hybrid or on-site options available.
