The remaining workdays may be worked remotely.\nEssential Responsibilities\nThe position incumbent is expected to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation.\nSoftware Design and Development\nLead and contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and lifecycle support of web, mobile, legacy, and AI-enabled applications.\nTranslate business and technical requirements into solution designs, technical specifications, and maintainable application components.\nDesign and integrate AI/ML capabilities and data pipelines using appropriate frameworks and technologies.\nTechnical Leadership and Standards\nProvide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, including architecture and design decisions, estimation, implementation planning, code quality, and release readiness.\nEstablish and enforce application development standards for security, performance, reliability, maintainability, observability, and regulatory compliance.\nMentor team members and provide technical guidance.\nTesting, Quality, and Deployment\nImplement DevOps practices (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery / Deployment (CI/CD), containerization with Docker/Kubernetes).\nWrite and automate test scripts; participate in code reviews and performance optimization.\nParticipate in peer code reviews, application standards and application performance reviews\nApplication Support and Continuous Improvement\nProvide ongoing support for business applications in production through on-call rotation.\nIdentify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing and maintenance processes using problem-solving skills.\nProvides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.\nResearch emerging technologies and propose solutions to improve processes.\nEvaluate, adopt, and apply AI-enabled technologies to support strategy, improve workflow efficiency, automate routine tasks, and enhance data-driven decision making.\nCollaboration and Delivery Coordination\nCoordinate cross-functional delivery with Solution Architects, developers, infrastructure, security, data, quality assurance, and business stakeholders; identify risks and drive issues to resolution.\nParticipate in team meetings, code reviews, requirements analysis, design meetings etc. using productivity tools like O365, Copilot, Teams, Jira, Confluence etc.\nWork in a team-oriented environment with flexibility to work independently.\nNon-Essential Responsibilities\nSupport Information Technology's vision, strategic direction, development, and future growth.\nSupport other functions and responsibilities of the departments.\nContribute to the development of department and company strategic initiatives.\nAssist with special projects as assigned.\nInteract with all levels of management\nMust be available to work flexible hours.\nAll other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong working experience of modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, Spring Boot, Angular, React)\nProficient in deploying applications to servers (Oracle WebLogic, Tomcat) and integrating with databases (SQL Server, DB2, MySQL)\nDemonstrated experience in requirements analysis, software design, development, testing, and production implementation\nSkill in refactoring legacy systems into microservices architecture.\nProficiency in modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, TypeScript).\nDeep expertise in Java EE concepts including EJBs, JPA, JMS, and JAX-RS, with demonstrated ability to debug and optimize complex service architectures.\nExperience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices in cloud/hybrid environments.\nKnowledge of AI/ML concepts and demonstrated skill in developing AI-enabled application features, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents or workflow automation, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices.\nSkilled in utilizing AI-enabled tools and technologies to improve efficiency, enhance work quality and outcomes, and support innovation and continuous process improvement.\nWorking proficiency with version control systems, agile methodologies, software design and diagramming, build and deployment tools, issue and bug tracking tools, data access tools, and SQL across relational and non-relational databases.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\nStrong interpersonal and team building skills when interacting with internal and external customers.\nDemonstrated ability to effectively work with dynamic, cross-functional teams in support of corporate goals and objectives, and in the enhancement of the corporation's technology products, services, and capabilities. \nQualifications\nEducation\nRequired: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Experience beyond the minimum work experience requirement can be substituted for degree on a year-for-year basis.\nExperience\nRequired:\nFive (5) years of total professional experience delivering technology solutions across application development, cloud services, data platforms, automation, AI-enabled technologies, and related software tools. The required experience must include the following:\nDemonstrated experience in developing, debugging, testing, deploying, and maintaining Java applications and RESTful web services.\nHands-on experience with DevOps tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, Git, and Nexus, including CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments in Azure, AWS, or GCP.\nExperience in building and delivering AI-enabled application features, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, or AI agent and workflow automation.\nPreferred:\nExperience with AI / ML, and Data Analytics technologies.\nExperience with AI code assistant tools, large language models (LLMs), and AI models \nData Transformation experience using extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools.\nFamiliarity with migration of legacy systems (COBOL on z/OS) to modern technologies.\nWork Environment\nWork may be conducted remotely or in an office with a surrounding small cubicle environment.\nOffice work environment is climate controlled with no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.\nParticipates in rotating on-call support for web and mobile business applications.\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nTrellis is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
