You will be designing, developing, and testing the porting foundation of TrellisWare’s partner radio vendor Software Defined Radio products. You will have the opportunity to work closely with partner radio vendor specific embedded hardware, vendor specific software architecture/execution environment, platform peripheral/interface abstractions, and inter-processor communication mechanisms. Experience with precise software and system security, and/or deep audio, video and data network processing are each highly desirable for this position.\nThe essential duties and responsibilities include:\nDesign, develop, and test software platform execution environments\nGenerate, configure, and maintain Linux and RTOS based hardware abstraction layers, including inter-processor and inter-process communication abstractions\nDesign, update, and extend hardware specific software component variants\nFacilitate hardware specific software component performance verification with targeted code\nPerform feasibility studies and performance analysis of critical system software on associated hardware platforms; Aid in evaluating new hardware architectures and associated software runtime environment performance analysis\nInterface with common Linux services and protocols\nDocument and present design alternatives using standard professional practices and corporate defined engineering processes\nWork cross functionally to measure, debug, and optimize overall radio system performance\nEducation and work experience requirements are:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study required.\nMinimum of four years’ experience developing embedded Linux based and/or RTOS based board support packages\nTwo years of experience with Yocto Project\nExperience with common software debugging and lab test equipment\nExperience with Object-oriented design, data link layer and device drivers as well as ARM based processors\nExperience with embedded communications/wireless systems preferred\nTo be considered for this position, you would need to meet, at a minimum, the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed here:\nCustomization for embedded Linux subsystems and/or tailored lower-level Real-time operating system components\nDeep proficiency in C/C++ and Python\nConfiguration and control of Radio Frequency Receive and Transmit front ends, and transceiver control\nEmbedded system security including secure boot, tamper detection, secure SW upgrade, key management, user authentication and encryption, networking security protocols\nEfficient, high data throughput systems, DMA, minimum copy systems, and overload control\nRun time diagnostics, Built In Test (BIT), and logging across multiple radio subsystems\nDistributed revision control systems and common embedded Linux and/or RTOS development tools (i.e. compilers, linkers, and debuggers)\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAdditional requirements are:\nMust be an EU resident.\nMust speak at least one European language besides English.\nMust be able to travel internationally for work as required.\nEmployment terms and requirements include:\nThis is a full-time position approved for remote work within the Netherlands, except when travel is required for business purposes.
