Constructs succession plans to ensure sustainability and continuity of area of responsibility.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPlans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.\n\nAdvises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.\n\nStudies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.\n\nReviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.\n\nSchedules work for special and periodic inventories.\n\nTraces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.\n\nDetermines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.\n\nIssues written and oral instructions.\n\nAssigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.\n\nStudies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.\n\nMaintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.\n\nPrepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.\n\nAdjusts errors and complaints.\n\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENT:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\nEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.\n\nExperience managing people in a fast moving and time sensitive environment.\n\nExperience with lean manufacturing and six sigma preferred.\n\nExperience with SAP is preferred\n\nOTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:\nAbility to lead integration of operations or services generally related in nature; may need to coordinate with other departments or divisions.\nAbility to influence, develop, motivate and change behavior.\nProblem solving skills; ability to effectively resolve a variety of issues that require the identification of the issue, application of judgment and the selection of viable solution alternatives.\nAbility to guide situations in accordance with standard practices;
