Typical duties include reviewing customer requirements, suggesting solutions, coordinating product integration, delivery and author design documentation. This role will work at the direction and supervision of the Mechanical Engineering Manager.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPlan, conceptualize, and create design architecture against requirements \nManage and maintain customer requirements, system requirements, and traceability\nEvaluate alternatives and support make/buy decisions \nCollaborate with multi-disciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, software, and test engineers and participate with teams in design reviews. \nCreate design output documentation (i.e. SDRLS, White Papers, BOMS, etc.) as necessary and review for completeness \nIdentify and manage risk in products, processes, and environment. \nSupport Trenton’s system level DFM, addressing compatibility & interoperability with technology, industry, and regulatory standards. \nEnsure full traceability to verification and validations plans and reports \nAssist Project and Engineering Managers with requirement clarifications, managing scope creep, and developing contingency plans \nPM21\nRequirements\nRequired\nBachelors degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field (e.g. Aerospace, Manufacturing, MET) \nMinimum of 3-5 years experience in engineering design capacity OR \n5+ years of technical experience \n Knowledge of computer hardware & embedded systems architecture \nFamiliarity with MRP or similar (Eng Change Orders/ Production processes) \nFamiliarity with engineering analysis\nDesired\n Masters degree in related Engineering field \n 3-5+ Years of Embedded Systems Engineering \n VITA / VPX Experience \n Selects/works with the processor, MCU, GPU \nHardware interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, etc. \nFans, sensors, power sequencing, LEDs, monitoring, etc. \nHardware/software
