This position is instrumental in enhancing and strengthening our internal Quality Management System by developing and optimizing our internal and external quality processes, procedures, and documentation. This position’s primary focus is to assist, contribute, and execute on the team’s strategic plans for Quality Management System stability and improvement. \nPower Connector’s Quality Manufacturing Engineer is a dynamic, adaptable, open-minded problem solver with analytical and communication skills suited for individual and team contribution. This position is an integral part in sustaining and improving our quality system for expansion within our current industry and penetration into new industries. This position enjoys the inherent challenges of improving and stabilizing quality management systems and manufacturing processes in a diverse, dynamic, and growing organization. This position has a strong influence on the fundamental principles of the deployed quality management system and leads many initiatives related to the enhancement of internal and external manufacturing and quality processes.\nMinimum Qualifications\n Education:\nBachelor’s of Science in engineering or related field\nExperience:\n3-5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or related field\n Knowledge:\nStrong knowledge of ISO standards (AS9100 preferred)\nProficient in using inspection equipment, such as calipers and micrometers\nAbility to read drawings, specifications, acceptance test procedures, etc.\nProficient in MS Office\nSkills:\nGood oral and written communication and presentation skills\nExcellent organizational skills\nResults-oriented with strong analytical skills\nAbility to work well independently and part of a team\nAbility to motivate team members in a creative and effective manner\nAbility to work effectively under stressful and dynamic environments\nJob Responsibilities\nInterface with quality personnel at customer and supplier levels\nRead blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required\nInspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers, when applicable\nPerform visual inspections of finished products and grade, classify, or sort products according to sizes, weights, colors, or other specifications when applicable\nConduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, conditioning samples, finished goods, or stability samples\nRecord inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded\nDiscard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications\nMark items with details such as grade or acceptance-rejection status\nInterpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release\nMaintain all Quality Control documentation\nAssist in all Quality Control activities as directed\nNotify supervisors or other personnel of production problems\nComplete documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data record forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms\nCalibrate, validate, or maintain quality control equipment\nDevelop and conduct computational analysis for internal and external validation testing as necessary\nCreate Supplier Corrective Action Request, submit to supplier, and assess SCAR response\nAssess discrepant material, create Discrepant Material Request, and notify Material Review Board for disposition\nIdentify root causes and applicable corrective actions related to quality issues\nExecute quality control protocols and provide feedback to management for potential improvements\nDevelop documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data record forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms for New Product Introduction\nCreate CAD models, drawings, and specification sheets for parts, tools, fixtures, etc.\nDevelop manufacturing processes and write and review process documentation\nPerform time studies on manufacturing processes and assess standard labor times\nParticipate in product design reviews to provide input on design and manufacturing requirements, functional requirements, capacity, potential failure modes, etc.\nPerform training in manufacturing and assist in cross-training\nPurchase manufacturing consumables\nExecute manufacturing processes as necessary for engineering, operations, and quality\nPerform DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and Risk Assessments\nAssist with maintenance and set-up of applicable production equipment\nAnalyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.\nAssist in control calibration “gage control” program for all calibrated devices.\nEnsure that the company’s manufacturing processes comply with all government laws and regulations.\nReview and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.\nDocument and optimize manufacturing procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with internal and external standards.\nProvide support to other engineering areas of operation\nAny additional tasks necessary to execute on the team’s strategy for operational sustainability, improvement, and optimization\n Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.
