FEC also produces electro-mechanical assemblies and systems for custom applications, all with no minimum quantity requirements. FEC is AS9100D and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified.\nThe First Electronics Corporation’s Molding Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining molding machines to over-mold electrical cable harnesses and components. This position is also responsible for the assembly and manufacturing of various types of cables used in electrical and electronic systems and for ensuring the quality and functionality of the cables produced are up to standards.\nThe First Electronic Corporation’s Molding Technician is a respectful, team-player that works well with diverse internal team members. This position is ambitious, self-motivated, results-driven, and demonstrates problem solving skills with sound judgment. This role is responsive, accessible, self-motivated, and detail oriented.\nMinimum Qualifications\nExperience: Prior experience with cable manufacturing or working with rubber materials, cable types, connectors, and electrical components is desired but not required. The company will train in all duties required to perform the essential functions of the job.\nKnowledge: No prior knowledge is required. Training will be provided on reading electrical schematics, blueprint drawings, and internal FEC/Trexon processes and systems. \nSkills: We look for team members who demonstrate attention to detail, patience, and manual dexterity, pride of workmanship and an ability to understand training principles for proper cable and wire manufacturing techniques.\nEssential Position Duties\nPerform the assembly of cables according to specific work instructions, engineering drawings, or diagrams. \nSet up and start up molding machines using appropriate rubber materials such as polyurethane and elastomers.\nDocument mold changes and machine adjustments.\nOperate various tools, machinery, and equipment required to over-mold cable assemblies, including heat guns and molding presses.\nEnsure proper handling and maintenance of equipment to maximize productivity and safety.\nFollow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Comply with company policies and quality management systems.\nEnsure cables meet quality standards and specifications.\nIdentify any defects or issues, such as loose connections, improper soldering, or damaged insulation, to maintain the integrity of the final product.\nMaintain and create a clean, uncluttered environment that reduces waste and optimizes productivity by following the 5S steps: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain.\nOther responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
