This role leads the quality team, manages audits and corrective actions, and partners closely with Engineering and Production at both business units to drive measurable improvements in quality and performance.\nThis position plays a critical role in maintaining certification, reducing defects, and ensuring customer satisfaction across both organizations in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nMaintain AS9100 certification with successful audit outcomes\nReduce internal defects, rework, and cost of poor quality (COPQ)\nImprove customer quality performance (scorecards, escapes, RMAs)\nDrive timely and effective corrective actions (internal and external)\nBuild a strong, accountable, and capable quality team\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Oversight & Compliance\nManage and maintain the QMS in compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements\nEnsure execution of inspections, audits, and quality controls\nOversee NCRs, RMAs, FAIs, and engineering change activities\nLead internal and external audits, including customer and registrar audits\nEnsure adherence to specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements\nSupport contract review and risk assessment processes\nCustomer & Supplier Quality\nServe as primary point of contact for customer quality interactions\nManage customer audits, corrective actions (SCARs), and scorecards\nPartner with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve performance\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, coach, and develop Quality Inspectors, Engineers, and Test Technicians\nManage hiring, onboarding, and performance management within the department\nEnsure proper staffing and coverage to meet production demands\nPromote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement\nCorrective Actions & Continuous Improvement\nLead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action efforts\nImplement sustainable improvements to reduce defects and variation\nDrive process improvements in collaboration with Production and Engineering\nReporting & Metrics\nTrack and report KPIs to leadership (scrap, rework, FPY, customer returns, etc.)\nProvide data-driven insights to support operational and strategic decisions\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation & Experience\n7+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment\n2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred\nExperience in AS9100 or ISO-certified environments required\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong leadership and team development skills\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and MIL standards\nWorking knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 (certification preferred)\nExperience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies\nStrong understanding of quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement tools\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems\nFamiliarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)\nStrong communication and organizational skills\nWhy Join Us\nGrowing company with strong leadership and investment in operations\nHigh-impact role with visibility to leadership\nOpportunity to build and shape the Quality function\nCompetitive compensation and benefits\nThis position requires access to information or technology that is controlled under U.S. export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, ITAR, and the Export Administration Regulations, EAR.
