Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off­ the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components. \nThe Level 1 Software Engineer (SWE) shall possess the following capabilities: \nAnalyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements \nDebug existing software and correct defects \nProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards \nDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new features \nIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments \nDevelop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories \nWrite or review software and system documentation \nServe as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project \nDesign or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries \nDevelop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards \nAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software components \nDevelop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas \nModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance \nDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. \nAdditional contract or position specific required experience for this level (skills, technologies, expertise): \nBuild applications using specified programming language per the development requirements. \nDevelopment for Windows or UNIX applications using scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java, and Python). \nDev Ops- Build and deploy technologies (e.g., Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Packer) \nCl/CD- Experience with Cl/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins and Bamboo), and building automated Cl/CD pipelines \nTypically requires a Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of related experience.\nActive and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date.\nU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.\nT-Rex Overview\nEstablished in 1999, T-Rex Solutions, LLC is a proven mid-tier business providing data-centric mission services to the Federal government as it increasingly tries to secure and leverage the power of data.
