You will design, develop, and evolve backend services and frontend applications across our enterprise product suite - a hands-on role that blends new feature development with improving and modernising complex, established codebases. TRG Screen is an AI-driven engineering organisation; this role is expected to use AI tooling by default across the full development lifecycle.\nResponsibilities\nDevelopment & Delivery\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend systems and frontend applications, including modernisation of complex, established codebases.\nParticipate in the full SDLC - requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release support.\nOperate independently on complex tasks, owning features end-to-end from design through to deployment.\nParticipate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to clean code principles.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, including performance and scalability challenges.\nUse AI tooling as standard practice across design, implementation, code review, and testing to improve quality and delivery speed.\nTechnical Leadership\nContribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making.\nApply clean code principles and design patterns to deliver maintainable, scalable systems.\nChampion automated testing practices and contribute to system reliability, performance, and security.\nActively adopt AI-driven development practices and contribute to their adoption within the team.\nProduce technical documentation including design specifications and runbooks.\nTeam Leadership & Collaboration\nCollaborate effectively with product managers, QA, UX designers, and other stakeholders.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.\nContribute to team knowledge through pairing and documentation.\nCommunicate clearly on technical topics with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nParticipate in sprint planning, estimation, and continuous process improvement.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nStrong Java experience (5+ years) in enterprise or large-scale backend systems\nExperience working with complex, established codebases.\nKnowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience in modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React, or similar).\nKnowledge of relational databases and ORM frameworks.\nSolid understanding of clean code principles, design patterns, and testing practices.\nFamiliarity with Git, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).\nExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.\nPreferred\nExposure to microservices architecture and API design.\nExperience with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS).\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.\nExperience using AI-driven development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality.\nFamiliarity with spec-driven development - using structured specifications to guide AI coding agents and validate generated output (e.g., BMAD, GitHub Spec-Kit).\nFamiliarity with financial services or research technology domains.\nJoin TRG Screen and unlock your potential in an environment where innovation thrives, opportunities abound, and your contributions make a difference.
