The Mechanical Designer is responsible for designing various mechanical devices that will be vital in developing machinery and/or large structures, working closely with our team of Project Managers, Shop Personnel to ensure project success. We are looking to add someone to our team who is a lateral thinker, able to navigate complexity and embrace ambiguity. It is crucial that our Mechanical Designer promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nWork on a variety of custom projects which include items such as conveyors, platforms and other components used primarily in the food and pharma industries \nUsing layout diagrams, sketches, and notes to create 3D drawings of equipment \nParticipate in Kickoff meetings, liaise with Project Managers, and other stakes holders to ensure project success throughout the project \nTaking ownership of projects, sticking with them from concept to design, fabrication, and installation \nDevelop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices, and all applicable industry standards\nRegularly communicate project status with key stakeholders\nLead and contribute to product development, product realization and continuous improvement projects by working cross functionally with the Innovation and Manufacturing groups \nRequirements\nCollege Diploma / University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred \nMinimum of 2 years of Mechanical Design experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment\nProficient in Solidworks (or similar 3D software) and AutoCAD\nWorking knowledge of Solidworks PDM preferred\nDesign experience with exposure to structural and or stainless steel product \nFamiliar with working with weldment functions, sheet metal functionality within a 3D software\nExperience working with conveyor systems and or sanitary equipment used in the food industry, is an asset\nGood communication skills with the ability to work with engineering teammates and shop floor staff\nWe Look Forward to Hearing from You!\nWe are committed to diversity and inclusion.
