This role involves preparing financial statements, supervising payroll and supplier payments, managing audits, and maintaining full sets of accounts. The Accounts Manager works closely with the Managing Director and departmental heads to support sound financial decision-making and ensure fiscal health across the organization.\n\nROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nFinancial Reporting and Record Management\n\n§ Prepare and maintain a full set of company accounts in accordance with accounting standards.\n\n§ Generate timely financial reports including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.\n\n§ Record journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger transactions.\n\n§ Reconcile all bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and supplier ledgers monthly.\n\n§ Monitor actuals vs. budget by class and report variances to management.\n\nPayroll and Statutory Compliance\n\n§ Oversee payroll processes and review payroll prepared by HR Officer.\n\n§ Ensure accurate posting of payroll entries in the accounting system.\n\n§ File and remit statutory obligations including PAYE, VAT, and other tax submissions within due dates.\n\n§ Reconcile VAT returns against receivable accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance\n\nProcurement and Payments Management\n\n§ Review and process supplier payment vouchers, cheques, and remittance advices.\n\n§ Ensure proper documentation, authorization, and timely payment of supplier invoices.\n\n§ Maintain strong internal controls for cheque books and financial disbursements.\n\nAudit and Internal Controls\n\n§ Prepare year-end audit schedules and financial statements in line with the audit calendar.\n\n§ Support external auditors during financial audits and respond to queries efficiently.\n\n§ Reconcile the fixed asset register monthly and ensure depreciation is accurately recorded.\n\n§ Participate in internal audits and implement recommendations for process improvements.\n\nBudgeting and Financial Planning\n\n§ Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.\n\n§ Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and operational planning.\n\nCash Management and Petty Cash\n\n§ Safeguard and manage petty cash, ensuring proper documentation of expenditures.\n\n§ Verify and post petty cash returns and reconcile balances monthly.\n\nClient and Revenue Support\n\n§ Support income tracking and collections through collaboration with the Accounts Officer.\n\n§ Provide financial insights to help maintain profitability and efficient operations.\n\nSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\n\n§ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n\n§ Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.\n\n§ Strong understanding of financial regulations, audit practices, and tax compliance.\n\n§ Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).\n\n§ Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\n§ Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a high degree of professionalism.\n\n§ Ability to work under
