and Responsibilities:\nProvides day to day supervision of high complexity testing and must remain accessible to testing personnel.\nSchedules and maintains complete coverage of all shifts and performs bench work in the laboratory, as needed and reviews and monitors payroll activities.\nEnsures that testing personnel utilize the appropriate pending reports to confirm all testing on all shifts is accounted for and performed.\nProvides orientation to all testing personnel and annually evaluates and documents the performance in all areas of testing for testing personnel.\nConducts performance evaluations and competencies for all departmental staff.\nMonitors test analysis and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.\nEnsures that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.\nPerforms assessment of the operation of all instruments in areas of responsibility and assigns maintenance procedures or repairs as needed.\nEnsures all documentation required by regulatory agencies, including quality control, maintenance and service records, and all documentation required for general operation of the laboratory is available.\nAssists Laboratory Manager in the assessment of the efficiency of the utilization of all resources in areas of responsibility, including personnel management, equipment/reagent responsibility, equipment/reagent evaluation and method development.\nMaintains inventory of supplies utilized by all laboratory areas and assists Laboratory Manager in placing supply orders as needed.\nAssists Laboratory Manager in the analysis and recording of all monitors of all quality assurance systems required to maintain precision and accuracy, including proficiency testing.\nEnsures the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment according to OSHA and CLIA regulations.\nTroubleshoots problems (client, instrument, and computer) as needed and escalates accordingly.\nIdentifies and pursues self-improvement needs.\nSeeks coaching/mentoring when appropriate.\nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nCompliance Responsibilities:\nComplies with applicable legal requirements, standards, and procedures including, but not limited to, those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct, and Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA).\nProvides leadership and support for the Compliance process within management\nPromotes adherence to applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures as specified within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct, HIPAA, and CIA within management\nDistributes compliance-related materials within management\nEnsures timely and accurate reporting and responses to compliance-related issues and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans related to such issues.\nEnsures that staff participates in orientation and training programs including, but not limited to, all required compliance and HIPAA courses and relevant policies and procedures, and that such training is properly documented.\nProvides open lines of communication regarding compliance issues within management area, ensures that retaliation against staff who report suspected incidences of non-compliance does not occur.\nParticipates in monitoring and auditing activities and investigations and implementing quality improvement process, as required.\nCompletes performance reviews and determines compensation and promotions based on the accomplishment of established standards that promote adherence to compliance and quality\nParticipates in required orientation, Compliance and HIPAA training\nPrepares compliance reports, as\nCore Competencies/Skill Set:\nStrong verbal and written communication\nStrong planning and organization\nDemonstrates understanding of healthcare staffing\nApplies sound business judgment in decision\nDemonstrates critical analysis and complex problem-solving\nDemonstrates ability to manage highly confidential and proprietary\nProficient in computer skills that include spreadsheets, presentations and word processing software and Microsoft Office required.\nExperience/Certification Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science as per CLIA standards\n2-4 years’ experience as per Technical Supervisor CLIA standards.\nASCP certification preferred.\nMust be prepared to provide the appropriate documented experience as per CLIA
