The Microsoft Power Platform Developerwill work alongside senior developers, data engineers, and business analysts to build application components, structured data models, integrations, and reporting outputs that support a multi-level clinical review and approval workflow. Day-to-day work spans both application development and data engineering: implementing intake forms and role-based dashboards, designing and maintaining the underlying data structures that drive routing and threshold logic, building and validating data pipelines, and producing reporting views and executive summary outputs used by leadership. This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role for an early-career engineer who is comfortable working from user stories and acceptance criteria, asking clarifying questions, and delivering incremental work in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with strong fundamentals in Python and SQL who is eager to pick up low-code platforms and federal delivery practices under the mentorship of senior technical staff.\nPlease note, this position is remote, but may require occasional ad hoc travel to client locations.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDevelop, configure, and maintain application components including intake forms, role-based dashboards, workflow routing, notifications, and audit logging, under the direction of senior developers. \nDesign, build, and maintain relational and list-based data structures that support workflow routing, threshold logic, versioning, and historical reporting. \nBuild and maintain data pipelines to ingest, validate, transform, and load data from Excel, CSV, form submissions, and upstream enterprise systems into the application data layer. \nWrite, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and stored logic supporting application functionality, reporting, and data quality checks. \nDevelop and support REST API integrations and structured data exchanges (JSON) between the application and other enterprise systems and services. \nBuild reporting views, dashboards, and automated document or summary outputs that present request status, service level agreement (SLA) compliance, and enterprise performance metrics to client stakeholders. \nTranslate business epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria into working functionality, and participate in backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups. \nPerform data validation, create and maintain test data, support unit and regression testing, and assist with defect triage and resolution. \nUse Git-based version control and participate in peer code reviews, branching and merge practices, and supported deployment and release activities across development, test, and production environments. \nProduce and maintain clear technical documentation, including data dictionaries, schema and configuration documentation, and runbooks that support onboarding, handoff, and future feature integration. \nSupport compliance with federal security, privacy, records management, and Section 508 accessibility requirements in all delivered work. \nCollaborate with business analysts, product owners, testers, and client subject matter experts to clarify requirements and confirm that delivered functionality meets user needs. \nCommunicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively to the technical lead and project manager. \nStay current with relevant development, data engineering, and platform capabilities to ensure delivered solutions remain maintainable and relevant. \nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information systems, software engineering, or similar. \n8+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or a closely related technical role. Internship, co-op, research, and substantive academic or personal project experience will be considered. \nProficiency in Python. \nExperience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) and SharePoint Online. \nProficiency in SQL, including working knowledge of relational database design and data modeling. \nExperience building or consuming REST APIs and working with structured data formats such as JSON. \nExperience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows. \nAbility to read and work from written requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. \nAbility to produce clear technical documentation and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. \nWillingness and demonstrated ability to learn new platforms and tools quickly, including low-code development environments. \nCapacity to work independently or collaboratively with a cross-functional team in a remote or hybrid setting. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and requests. \nAbility to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nVA or federal health IT experience preferred. \nAdvanced degree in computer science, data science, or similar. \nExperience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database, including schema design and migrations. \nExperience with TypeScript or JavaScript and a modern front-end framework such as React. \nExperience building dashboards or visualizations in Power BI, Grafana, or a similar tool. \nFamiliarity with containerization and CI/CD tooling such as Docker and GitHub Actions. \nExperience working in Agile or Scrum delivery teams, including sprint-based delivery and code review. \nFamiliarity with data quality, validation, audit logging, and version control concepts in a regulated or compliance-driven environment. \nFamiliarity with Section 508 accessibility standards. \nBenefits (including but not limited to):\nHealth, dental, and vision plans\nOptional FSA\nPaid parental leave\nSafe Harbor 401(k) with employer contributions 100% vested from day 1\nPaid time off and 11 paid holidays\nNo
