Candidates with expertise in architectural, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing estimating are encouraged to apply.\nThis role involves preparing detailed construction cost estimates, evaluating change order proposals, and supporting construction claim reviews and cost negotiations.\nResponsibilities\nPrepare and review detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and construction.\nDevelop quantity takeoffs and cost evaluations from drawings, specifications, contract documents, and proposed changes.\nReview contract documents, RFIs, bulletins, and field records to validate proposed changes and support assessments of entitlement to additional compensation.\nEvaluate added and deleted work, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.\nIndependently verify quantities using drawings, field measurements, daily reports, and time-and-material records.\nEvaluate unit prices, labor rates, productivity assumptions, material costs, and equipment charges using relevant cost data and project conditions.\nVerify overhead, profit, bond, insurance, and other markups against applicable contract requirements.\nPrepare independent estimates and supporting documentation for change order negotiations.\nSupport construction claim reviews by analyzing submitted costs and identifying unsupported or duplicate charges.\nCoordinate with project managers, designers, consultants, and contractors to resolve scope and pricing discrepancies.\nReview consultant-prepared estimates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.\nSupport cost forecasting by tracking potential and approved changes and their impact on project budgets and estimates at completion.\nPlan, assign, and review estimating work, as required.\nQualifications\nA bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services, or a related field.\nFive (5) years of full-time technical experience, including at least three (3) years in architectural, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing estimating, with the remaining two (2) years in technical construction-related areas.\nA satisfactory combination of education and experience may also be considered.\nPreferred\nExperience evaluating change orders, preparing independent estimates, and reviewing construction claim costs.\nFamiliarity with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or comparable estimating tools.\nFamiliarity with construction cost references, equipment pricing resources, applicable prevailing wage rates, and historical project cost data.\nExperience estimating work involving night shifts, restricted access, and phased construction.\nStrong analytical, documentation, communication, and negotiation skills.\nBenefits\nThe base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting.
