As a Construction Manager II, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects by overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications, and fostering strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to support successful project execution from pre-construction through closeout.\nKey Responsibilities\nOversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget\nMonitor contractor performance for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards\nCoordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to resolve field issues efficiently\nReview and track project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders\nFacilitate and lead construction meetings, including progress, coordination, and safety meetings\nEnsure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements\nMaintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and progress records\nAssist in cost control efforts, including reviewing pay applications and supporting budget tracking\nIdentify risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impacts to schedule and cost\nProvide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and field personnel\nSupport project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering (P.E. Preferred), or a related field (or equivalent experience)\n3-6 years of progressive experience in construction management, preferably in DOT transportation or infrastructure projects\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes\nExperience with DOT or public agency projects is preferred\nAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents\nStrong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams\nProficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nDemonstrated ability to manage staff on large, fast-paced projects\nCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement\nBenefits\n At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
