This role operates with independence and initiative under the general supervision of a manager, providing GIS support to enterprise-wide and customer-specific requirements. The GIS Analyst will also troubleshoot and enhance existing systems and contribute to the development of new GIS tools and applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all spatial data operations. Additional responsibilities may include leading and managing GIS projects.\nDuties Include\nAssist with or lead and manage GIS projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to client specifications, and alignment with project scopes and budgets.\nPerform advanced-level GIS analysis and create detailed mapping and visualization solutions for complex engineering and environmental projects.\nDesign, develop, test, troubleshoot, and improve new and existing GIS data, processes, and applications to enhance company capabilities.\nDesign and implement robust quality assurance processes to maintain data integrity, standardization, and accuracy across all GIS layers/themes.\nProvide expert GIS support services and consultation to management, staff (especially the Environmental Department), and external clients (50%).\nManage, provide, maintain, and enhance access to spatial data as a key part of the company’s services (10%).\nDevelop and manage GIS tools, applications, and interfaces of spatially referenced datasets to support departmental and client requirements (15%).\nConduct efficient GIS data mining to provide solutions to ad hoc requests from internal teams and clients (15%).\nResearch readily available data to assist with preparation of graphics and proper documentation of data found (10%).\nCoordinate effectively across multiple departments (engineering, environmental, surveying) and projects, supporting both environmental and engineering initiatives.\nOccasional fieldwork may be required to support data collection or verification efforts.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nRequirements\nProficient in GIS and other data analysis tools. \nAbility to create, analyze, report, convert, or transfer data using GIS software.\nCapability to provide GIS support for multiple environmental and engineering projects.\nKnowledgeable in environmental regulations and best practices.\nThis role requires occasional fieldwork and collaboration across multiple departments and projects, supporting both environmental and engineering initiatives.\nExcellent oral, written, and organizational skills, and ability to maintain schedules and meet project deadlines. \nAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and work cross-functionally in a team environment. \n Familiar with the architecture and engineering industry. \nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills. \nAssist with administrative duties and needed.\nMust have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelors Degree in Geographic Information Science, Environmental Science field, Geography, or related field.\nMinimum of 7-10 years of experience in GIS design, mapping, and analysis (beyond formal education), or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.\nGISP certification\nExpertise in ESRI ArcGIS Pro 3.7.\nAbility to download data from Portable GPS units and a working knowledge of ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Maps and AutoCAD version 12 and similar applications.\nWork Environment:\n\nThe work environment features below are representative of those an employee meets while performing the essential functions of the role.\n\nThis position is in a professional office environment.
