As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects meet design specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations while fostering trust with clients, contractors, and the public.\nWhat are the core responsibilities for the role?\nPerform daily field inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations\nMonitor contractor activities for quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules\nDocument and report inspection findings, including detailed daily reports, photos, and field notes\nCoordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues and maintain project progress\nVerify materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet required standards\nIdentify and communicate deficiencies or non-compliant work and track corrective actions\nAttend project meetings and provide updates on inspection activities and project status\nEnsure proper implementation of traffic control, environmental controls, and safety procedures\nMaintain accurate records of quantities, progress, and completed work for payment verification\nQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:\nThis position requires the operation of a company vehicle. All candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Employment is contingent upon meeting Horrocks' Fleet & Safety minimum requirements. Candidates will be asked to provide consent for the MVR check as part of the hiring process.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred\nRelevant inspection certifications (e.g., ATSSA TC Supervisor, UDOT SRDT, CTP, ACI Grade I (preferred)) or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe\nPrevious experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or related field preferred\nStrong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and safety standards\nAbility to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and field reporting software \nValid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed\nWhy would a candidate want this job?\n At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
