As a Lab Tech 2, you will perform laboratory tests on soils, aggregates and HMA, prepare reports, and collect samples from jobsites and plants for a wide variety of transportation projects.\nWhat are the core responsibilities for the role?\nWork within a team of construction managers, office managers, inspectors, and contractors to successfully complete the construction of projects\nPerform field sampling and testing, and perform laboratory testing per UDOT, AASHTO and ASTM and other agency procedures and processes\nComplete test reports and documentation per UDOT and other agency requirements for all testing performed\nWork alongside UDOT construction crew or other agency construction management personnel in an augmentation role\nAssist younger technicians to complete tasks\nQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:\nCertification under American Concrete Institute (ACI) as Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I required or UDOT equivalent\nCertification under WAQTC guidelines for Sampling and Density (SRDTT)\nOther Certifications through UDOT are preferred \nSolid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.\nAbility to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.\nWillingness to work on projects locally and travel between labs daily\nWillingness to work either day or night shift depending on construction schedules\nOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skills\nMust be comfortable and efficient with enter test results into required databases\n4-6 years of experience\nWhy would a candidate want this job?\n At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
