As a Professional Engineer for Roadway, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.\nGrowth here isn't one-size-fits-all. Whether you're aiming toward Project Management, deeper technical specialization, or something in between, we shape that path around you, backed by mentorship and real project variety to get you there.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails\nPrepare studies, reports, memos, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects\nWork under the direction of a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and to coordinate and integrate the other associated design disciplines on projects\nSupport project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub consultant management\nTake ownership of projects from start to finish, with attention to quality, budget and schedule\nInterface with coworkers to achieve shared success\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering\nProfessional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire\n5-10 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering\nExperience working on multidisciplinary project teams\nSolid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria\nProficiency using Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software\nKnowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures\nDrainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus\nSolid written and oral communication skills\nSelf-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail\nProficiency with MS Office applications\nA desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment\nBenefits\n At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
