As a Professional Engineer for Roadway, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.\nWhat are the core responsibilities for the role?\nPerform the planning, design, and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use paths under the direction of a Project Manager and/or Senior Roadway Engineer\nPrepare and contribute to transportation studies, technical memoranda, reports, plans, specifications, and engineer’s cost estimates for a variety of transportation projects\nApply AASHTO, DOT, and local agency standards to develop accurate, constructible, and compliant roadway designs\nCoordinate roadway design elements with drainage, traffic, utilities, structures, and right-of-way disciplines to support integrated project delivery\nSupport the Project Manager in maintaining project scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives\nTake responsibility for assigned design tasks and work packages, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards\nParticipate in internal quality control reviews and incorporate QA/QC comments into final deliverables\nProvide technical input and mentoring support to junior engineers and designers as appropriate\nIdentify design challenges early and communicate potential impacts to the Project Manager and/or Senior Roadway Engineer\nMaintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standards\nInterface effectively with coworkers across disciplines to promote collaboration and project success\nDemonstrate professionalism in communications with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders\nQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Idaho, or ability to obtain within one year of hire\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience in roadway transportation engineering\nExperience working with ACHD, City of Caldwell, the City of Nampa and other Local Agencies within the Treasure Valley\nProven experience collaborating on multidisciplinary project teams\nStrong understanding of AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria\nProficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads civil design software\nWorking knowledge of ITD standards and plan development procedures\nDrainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus\nSolid written and oral communication skills\nSelf-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail\nProficiency with MS Office applications\nDemonstrated desire for continued personal and professional growth through project-based experience\nWhy would a candidate want this job?\n At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
