Water Engineering Services.\n\nWhat you’ll do\nWe are seeking a skilled and driven Project Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater engineering. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is passionate about water infrastructure, enjoys working with municipal clients, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license or has the ability to obtain it within 12 months.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead or assist in the planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater projects for municipal clients.\nPrepare plans, specifications, and reports for water treatment facilities, distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, lift stations, and stormwater systems.\nPerform hydraulic modeling, cost estimating, and permitting tasks related to water infrastructure.\nWork closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to ensure project requirements and compliance.\nProvide technical guidance to junior staff and designers.\nSupport project management functions, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.\nConduct field investigations, inspections, and construction oversight as needed.\n What it takes\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline.\nMinimum of 4 years of professional engineering experience, with emphasis in water, wastewater, or stormwater projects.\nLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or ability to obtain within 12 months.\nProficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D; knowledge of WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar tools is a plus.\nStrong understanding of regulatory permitting processes and local/state/federal requirements.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nProven ability to work independently and in a team environment.\nWhat you’ll get\n You’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow professionally at our progressive firm, which started in 1973.
